Home >> Dating >> Is it wrong for a woman to date someone younger than them
29.01.2008, 21:34 quote
Ok, so I've been talking to somebody about this, and they are pretty adamant that age does matter. And they nearly convinced me. But I'm sorry, it doesn't.
All that matters is that two people love or like each other, and that they can talk to one another. As long as nobody is getting hurt, it should not be an issue. John Lennon was not talking out his ass when he said 'Love is all you need'.

I think the younger girls who go for older men do so for a variety of reasons, older men tend to have (usually) more money, are more settled, more mature in their attitudes to relationships, more experienced between the sheets, and so on. As I mentioned in another thread I tend to date younger women myself, it's not something that I specifically look for I just tend to get on with them better. My last GF was 24 (I'm 38.)

Yeah, he was. Love matters a lot but there's more to it all. John Lennon was ok until he met Yoko and became a stinking communist hippy.

Women under 25 tend to be more mature then the men at the same age, of course not always. They are probably attracted to the maturity of older men.

When I was a teen I used to fancy men of any age, although when I got married my ex was only 1 year older than me.
I've been single for 13 yrs now and I'm still attracted to men of any age. I don't think I've changed in my likes and dislikes about guys from a 'fancying perspective', although maturity, common interests and all the other aspects of a relationship will have a bearing on my choices.
Maybe I usually prefer younger men 'cos many are still mature in their thinking but retain their sense of fun and I love that.

We were talking about his at work yesterday, wondering why older women go for younger, having a couple of friends that go for younger men, there response to me was it makes them feel young again
I could not imagine going out with a guy much younger me, say early twenties, just cant see what we would have in common, you know life experience etc, but each to there own i suppose, i have always dated guys around my age, oh and Myriad plenty of older guys are a whole lot of fun
I did go out on a date once with a much younger guy and i was bored rigid, was more concerned with the way he looked, than anything else, talked about computer games all night, was like sitting opposite my nephew ....... which made me feel a bit strange i can tell you ........

I know some older men who are great fun too, it's just they're 'taken'
Like I've said many times, for me I just don't like to feel like a guy's mother or daughter......so any inkling of that and I'd be off.........

I'm now 43,and at this age feel more attracted to women of say 10-15 years older.Yet in my 30s used to go for 18-25 y.os.

My ex husband is 42 now & we got married when he was 18 & I was 27, only 9 years but there was never a problem, I now prefer ( well always have) guys 10 - 15 years younger
Nothing wrong with that at all
