Just curious about how people regard height when it comes to dates or first impressions.

Yep, height is definitely an issue for most women, and therefore most non-tall men (like you and me).

TALL . . . dark and handsome is the classic phrase.

Men's rule of thumb - when the woman is wearing 3" heels, the man still needs to be taller than her, and some women will want him to be significantly taller.

Height is a two-edged sword...

Any girl shorter than 5'9" and i need to get a lean on in order to kiss them...

Height doesn't bother me..
I personally prefer quite tall guys(think over 6ft..) though.

I'm 5ft 8, and I would date a guy a few inches shorter than me.

I'd date someone the same height, 5ft 9, or over. I don't take heels into it cos i don't wear them very often.

Looks like i just make the criteria for Jay Wink

The last guy I dated was about an inch shorter than me on bare feet. His 'policy' was never to date a girl if he couldn't see over her head.... but 'kindly (ahem) he made an exception for me! LOL.

I didn't think it was an issue for me, he was a very lovely person and I was really fond of him, however I always wear heels and when I was towering over him by 5 inches I really felt self conscious. I planned what I'd wear around flat shoes and pretend I didn't mind, but, shallow as it may sound, I didn't like it.

I suppose you have to try before you buy! LOL!

Some men have preferences for blondes, brunettes, slim, curvy, etc so I guess we all discriminate, even subconsciously, because of our personal preferences.

Not really if you love some one who cares about other things, love concurs all I went out with a lady for five years she was so tall 5.11 and busty I was closer to her precious bust. I have been with bb ladies, petite, darker skin, Indian, disabled, and others
If girls choose to go for height it is because they brain washed in few countries, and many women do not like there height so they go for tall guys thinking of having tall kids from them if they settle down.

There are always ladies who like you the way you are not your height, look at many well know stars they are small frame yet they have women around them.
