Don't rush, be happy, and in the meantime just do things that'll make you feel happy.

It's working for me so far I'm still single, but I don't mind and everything else is going alright. I think it's a good base to work from.

Hi girls...I've been single nearly a year now and I think it was a good thing that me and my bf decided to break up... (we've been together about 8yrs)
If a relationship ends, for whatever reason, it means that it wasn't the right relationship to be in. I felt crap for 3 yrs before we broke up and now I've finally come out of the shell to look at life with my eyes not his and I've realized there are so many things I've missed out when I was with him.
I've got back my life and with a lot of support from friends and a bit of courage I've started doing all the things that make ME happy.
I'm still a bit insecure but to be honest, I think that if I have so many friends that love me and appreciate me than one day I'll find the right man to have a future together.
It's all about what you want girls...what makes you happy and who you are.
There's something in each one of us, something beautiful and unique and if you let it shine people will see it, including the men out there!!!!

Cheer up and don't be afraid!!!! Very Happy

While your heart is in the right place with this statement, I think it's broadly overstated. Relationships can end for all kinds of reasons, not all of them because there was something wrong with it. Take death or moving to opposite parts of the world, for example.

For the poster:

You are very attractive, so I don't think you'll have a problem meeting new people interested in you "that way." More likely the trick will be to screen through them to find someone genuine.

As for looking here, you should add more personal information to your profile, since there's almost no information there beyond your physical attractiveness Smile

I agree that there are many possible reasons for a relationship to end but at the end of the day if you cannot overcome certain issues due to lack of commitment or for the circumstances (ie, death) or for any other reason, it means that it just wasn't meant to be. I was just trying to give a positive outlook on this and anyway, is better to keep moving forward than stop thinking about the past, the whys/whos/whats and so on.... Wink

im single over 2 yrs now and my last serious rship would have finished 5 yrs ago this wkend haha! i couldnt handle been single for at least 3 yrs but now im so use to it, i never thought id c the day that id actually like been single.

Like a few of ye i was in rships from 11 yrs old up to 4 yrs ago, with a 3 month break in some of them. I had to make a decision, i was always relying on been with someone, i had to find out for myself and stay single so i knew i could be independent and not depend on a fella Sad but that was me, whenever i finish with a fella its like the world is going to fall apart without him.

I've just hit the 2 year mark too, MsIbiza!
It was orrible for the first 6 months as I had to live with my ex still.
Made the mistake of buying a house with someone who I was too in love with to notice was incompatible with.
(note to self: dumbass!)
It was a euphoric moment when the house got sold!
I've been single since.
Not intentionally, but out of working in a totally male-oriented industry and through living in a town with chavvy nightclubs (which I chose to avoid).
Now I'm in Manchester, guess I feel different.

Don't rely on us men, MsIbby!
We're a rotten bunch! Very Happy

you are right if someone had the temerity to die while i were in a relationship with them i would have to seriously consider ending it.... i'd try to let them down lightly tho......

Being single is fantastic. (being in a relationship that works is also fantastic)

My experience is that when a relationship ends, being single feels wrong for quite some time, it's something you grow into. The mistake a lot of people make is diving into the next opportunity of a relationship before they've properly adjusted to being single.

I was single for 18 months between relationships, I spent six months getting over the end of my relationship, and a year working out who I was and what I wanted. When I felt good about myself, I went back into a relationship. It's worked really well for me, when I began enjoying life solo and the interests I'd chosen for myself, I felt able to go back into a relationship without feeling the need to be subservient (fawning) or overbearing (dominant) which tends to happen if you don't have much belief in yourself.

Long story short, work yourself out first, then bring somebody else into the mix. Sorry if this is stating the bleeding obvious (which reading back it appears to be)

Embarassed
