Oh I am, there's no chance of me bottling it, but I can't help being nervous. She's messaged again now so it's definitely on.

Only natural to be nervous.

You can't be anywhere near as bad as I was at my last meet up anyway and yet we got through that and dated for several months.

Let alone as bad as the first meet up I had with someone online, and I ended up with her for over four years.

Are you going on a date? Or going to meet a potential new friend with maybe possabilities of more once you've got to know her?

I find if you play down expectations it makes it easier to be relaxed and be yourself...

I've got the second in mind, at the moment. I'm trying to play it down, but whichever way I look at it, it still feels exciting. We still don't know very much about each other, so it would probably be foolish to look at it any other way.

id want to speak on the phone with them before i me them, especially if they aint got a pic, just to make sure they are female and not some nutter. unless they were somebody well known to friends of mine, then that would be a different case entirely. but no pic and an early meeting, i'd want a phone call.

I'll usually try and meet up with someone quite quickly after exchanging 'pm's for a few days or more. After all, these are mostly 'dating' sites so I figure its best to go on a date! If you 'click' then great, if not, then it means you can move on...

Also I echo what was said earlier about 'no pic'...you could be going to meet some right rough old snaggletooth for all you know! I seriously don't believe that anyone intelligent enough to post a profile cant get it together to post a pic too Confused

I think you should just go for it.

The after meeting report: We sat and chatted for 2 hours, and then she said she wanted to go @ 930am, because she was working the next day and had some things to do before work.

I'm not sure where to go from here, but we seemed to get on OK, and I guess we'd hardly spoken since before meeting so maybe 2hrs is quite good. She also, unprompted said something about talking soon. Perhaps a good thing is that she's working all of next week, so there's time to chat casually and see how things go.

I'm usually really crap at all this working out if it is friends, more than friends or nothing stuff Sad. It's only ever gone somewhere for me when there's been at least kissing on the first date, and when there's not I've either fluffed it or it wasn't meant to be.

However it goes though, I am pleased, it was a nice evening and I am going to try and do things a bit different to how I've done it when it has gone wrong & see what happens.

Oh, she was pretty *and* it was in a different way to other girls I have been with. There's quite a lot of differences, in fact, which is all good. I like to sample something different.
