Being a 35 year old virgin guy, yes... that's right I am 35 and have never been with a woman , I have not idea on how to get started with this dating thing.

Being a computer geek, I have zero social skills and I fear women think I'm too much of a freak to talk to, so I am stuck in limbo with no idea how to get out.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Thanks.

And me. Infact, with a name like that, I'd be inclined to wonder if the poster was for real.

I think you're all being a little harsh with the name given the origin of the person.

Cf Auzzie slang dictionary:
Ripper : great, fantastic - "it was a ripper party"

Best advice mate is to take it easy, hone your social skills and confidence first, get used to interacting with people in the flesh...

Oh crikey!!!! Embarassed Didn't even look at where he came from. Sorry Jack

Word of advice re the name. If you're planning on wanting to get to know a British woman, modifying the name may help, truly. It's too much like Jack the Ripper.

Clint - without a photo, guys don't stand a chance.

Also - guys admitting openly that they're looking for casual sex pretty much don't stand a chance either.

Your salary is of interest to potential girlfriends, not to potential casual lays.

I'd take the "no-strings" and "casual encounters" preferences off your profile and try for a few dates instead. If you meet someone you like, maybe sex will come as part of a relationship, but the stats say that just advertising for sex will get a man nowhere, especially without a photo.

You need to get scrubbed up and get a photo of yourself with your friendly smile on. Like you just got exactly what you wanted for your birthday.

Luck, dude!

As a "late starter" (early 20's) myself, i kinda appreciate where you're coming from, so to speak. I found that openly telling women you're a virgin seems to put them right off, as if you were immediately some kind of weirdo. It all boils down to the desire thing - that's why blokes with loads of women attract more and more - they all fight for a big lump of that beefcake cos women are very competitive and want to be better than each other.

To be honest i think online dating kinda sucks. Without a picture, most women don't give you a second glance. Even with a picture they'll only look briefly unless you're what she classes as "gorgeous". We ALL do it, it's human nature. With a ratio of something like 3 men per women, most internet ladies have the pick of whoever they want and often judge purely on the picture. Before i get flack for saying that...a mate and myself setup 2 fake profiles on another site about a year ago. We found 2 random photos via Google, one "average" guy and one "model" guy. Both profiles had the exact same short descriptions which basically stated that the profile was fake. Mr Average got an occasional mail from women that had read the description. Mr Model got at least 5 mails a day - more than 90% of them mailed purely because of the photo without looking any further...

Moral of the story? You might get lucky online but have more chance of meeting someone in "real" life. Go grocery shopping at different supermarkets and different times of day, get a dog and walk it around local parks, go to a cyber cafe and mingle with other "nerds" (yes, you can get female ones too). Just get out and about and don't LOOK for love, enjoy your own life and women get attracted to that self confident independance.

Geee that was good, mebbe i should take my own advice...

So, reading though the above posts, you have made me out to be...

#1 Not real.
#2 A reincarnation of Jack the Ripper
#3 A total weirdo, as I'm a virgin at 35
#4 A total freak of nature, because I don't have a photo supplied
#5 and finally, a guy that nobody would want to meet for the above reasons.

My response to you all...

BULLSHIT!

This site, like 99% of all online dating sites are a load of crap. Only there to serve as the last bastion of the desperate, in a vein attempt to find true love, because they are either too socially inept and/or scary to met people in real life ( like myself, I'm more scary than socially inept ) or are so ridden with psychosis that they are unable to communicate with a fellow human being on even a rudimentary level.

Most guys who visit this site would be better served going to a porn site, and jacking themselves silly over dirty pictures of immoral sex, they can never hope to have themselves.

As for the women... for god sakes, stop whining about how nobody loves you and get a vibrator already!
