There's a lot of it about.

Women who are 5' or not much taller and size 8 aren't a rare species.

Most of them do tend to be in their 20s, however.

Post a link se we can all laugh.

As for the size issue, I don't really know. I would think that it has a lot to do with what is considered 'normal' in society.

Don't know about 'normal', but average clothes size is about a 14/16 and the average height (for a female) is 5ft 5".

I've posted about this before, but I'll say it again.

The "average" you mention is the average for all women, and is therefore not really relevant to women in different age brackets.

Take an example from last night. A woman . . . yes, a WOMAN . . . in the pub was talking about a great singer she'd heard recently. She said "She was a BIG woman, you know? Size 14, maybe even 16 . . . "

Now some of you may be horrified, but remember that this was a woman (about a size 10, if that's relevant) talking about another woman, and one she really liked and respected.

Red, you mention that as an average size, but as far as I can tell, it's not even close to being average for women in the age group of the woman who was talking (mid-20s). The women in that age group that I see out would, if I had to guess, average around size 10/12.

Maybe the "average" woman *is* 5'5" and size 14/16, but there are lots of 5'1"-5'2", size 8 and even size 6 women around, too. Just like there are lots of taller, curvier women around, too.

Now I agree that the guy quoted at the top of this thread was insulting, but it's not like he was advertising for a unicorn coated in fairy dust. Slim, petite women are not weird or rare. There are plenty of them out there.

A lot of bigger girls/women in bigger sizes still hide away.

The average clothes size i should think, is worked out by how much of what is sold sizewise. Yes, it could be women from 17 upto 70, but not everyone is looking for someone at the younger end of the scale. Most of the females I know range from a 14 upto a 22.

Incidentally, the one that is a size 14 is like a rake, only she's 6ft! So even clothes sizes aren't that great an indication of a womans build. I've said before that I'm an 18/20. I've had an argument with a shop assistant before that's insisted I'm a 14/16! There are far more factors than just a number on an item of clothing.

No, but perhaps that guy was, so while I agree that he was insensitive, it's not like he was looking for some weird, non-existent woman.

Most of the women I know range from size 6 to 12. Neither means much, I guess.

Totally true, I couldn't agree more.

I'm classed as morbidly obese - my BMI is 45, but I don't eat rubbish, and I don't eat as much as I maybe should. I always remember when I was about 12 and I was sat in a restaurant because my mother was ordering food, this old man, possibly in his late 50s early 60s (it was old when I was 12) and he asked me if I'd finished with the table, I told him my mum was just ordering and he replied 'Oh you look like you've eaten'. That hurt like hell. I was a size 18 then I had my son and I can't lose my baby weight.

I honestly can't understand why men prefer the thin ladies, more. Because if your big and beautidful ladies are just as nice, have bubbly personalities. Admittedly, I do like the whole of the bed, but isn't it nicer to have something to cuddle up to. (Sorry my personal opinion. Lol)

I wouldn't necessarily go for the thin bloke, as long as he has a nicer personality. And he's not mean to me, and can put up with sharing me with my baby boy.

Slim girls can have bubbly personalities too and as regards having something to cuddle up to then give me a firm toned body any day.

as far as the bubbly personalities go. I didn't say that slim women can't have bubbly personalities, just the bigger ladies do as well.

Everyones different and No ones perfect....

Hopefully we will all manage to find someone who loves us for us..no matter what the size of our knickers Wink

beauty is in the eye of the beholder..... and if someone doesn't fancy you just because of your waistline then he's not the one for you. so build a bridge...get over it...and find the one who is for you.
