Hello, everyone!
I've been on flirtbox for a while now, but only just recently discovered these boards and have spent a bit of time looking around them. Looks like there are some nice people here so thought I'd post and introduce myself.
I'm going to be a grad student in Derry, Northern Ireland starting in September (right now I live in the States) so I'd love to find someone in Northern Ireland as a friend (or hopefully more, but things have to start as friendships, in my opinion.)
I'm shy, but I find this is a good place to get over shyness. I'm also a bit of an academic-type nerd.
I've felt a bit weird on here for a while, because I'm really not interested in dating people around where I currently live (the midwest of the US) because I'm not going to be living here in the very near future, and obviously I want to be with someone who is going to be near to me. Is that strange? Has anyone else done this? I don't have a lot of faith in long-distance relationships, but that's not really what I'm looking for. I'm afraid some people think it is, though...

I would be so excited too and same here about the student loans... and I'm only half way done through undergrad!!!
Indiana- I've drove through there lots to get to Chicago, but haven't spent much time in the state. I have been to Shipshewana though- gotta love the Amish- and my best friend is from South Bend. I like teasing her and call her The Hoosier, lol!
