My experience of dating is that this isn't the way to do it. Is flirtbox a nice place to waste some spare time? Yes. Is it a place to meet somebody to love? I'd guess only in extremely rare circumstances. (You'd have to be REALLY lucky)

The people who are after something 'quicker' than a long term relationship are generally in the chat room, not on the discussion boards, and to be honest if you're after a LTR you're always going to be better off dealing with something that's geographically close to you, than something that covers the whole UK. I have no doubt there are success stories on flirtbox, but I suspect they're few and far between.

Going out and approaching people (in a suitable venue and with an appropriate manner) remains the best way to meet somebody. (IMO)

Personally, I wonder if the layout of members pages has something to do with the lack of communication between people that I keep reading about on the forums.

After looking at my own profile I had to scroll down about 2 to 3 pages to see what i've written about myself. Too much space is wasted, covered in poorly placed adverts or just plain distracting (like the many different font sizes). In short, the layout is a bit crap (not saying I could do better like) and depending on what boxes you've checked, books/albums/authors/music styles you've selected, a profile can look really disjointed and sore on the eye. Not much help in the image-concious times we live in.

It's a shame, the site's pretty cool and friendly otherwise.

look boys i'll tell you the reason you arent finding love on here........ there are vastly more men on here than women and the women that are on here get shit loads of messages so....... they can afford to be choosy so........ it is happening for some guys but only the good lookers i'm afraid. cos i can tell you after only being on here 3 weeks that i find it much easier to get a woman to go out with me face to face than on here and i have had a little success on here {2 dates in 3 weeks} and i think it is because there are so many guys on here that to pull u have to really work it unless you are a five star looker and if u arent then the less stars you have the harder you'll find it......... ive messaged women on here { thro boredom} that if i was in a pub/club i 'd bet my life they'd be up for it but ive been given the thanks/no thanks treatment because {i think} that they had an offer off someone better looking/more to their taste......... get down the boozer lads!

I know what your saying, and can't disagree with regards the men:women ratio (which I think is the case across the board, not just here) & getting out and about to meet people rather than just staring at a screen. Sound advice.

However, if you compare this site with some others (free ones included) you'll notice a fairly big difference in success rates. As my pics show i'm no adonis, but I get a shitload more women talk to me and introducing themselves on other sites than here.

I just be honest and real in my profile ....... and yes .... I don't get many replies and NO girls speaking to me first. At least I'm true to myself ..... that's the main thing .... right? And if I was soooo coooool, like prettyboy then I'd be down the pub. Unfortunately I find picking up women in bars so fake and contrived. It's funny really:- I bitch about how alone I am but secretly know I'll be alone forever ..... how depressing is that? I'll write a song about it - then everything might seem slightly more sunny.
