I am also a member of the other site you hinted non to subtly at.

As are many of the forum members here.

They are both dating site and there the comparison ends!

The other one is cold and mechanical, the forums suck and most of the guys on there think that they are brad pitt!

This one has always been warm and the owner takes an active interest in the members and the forums are the best I have ever found.

Chose whichever you want be a member of both or not but for gods sake stop comparing them!

In answer to your original question - keep it real when you are messaging people, say something about their profile and interests and at all times keep it polite and clean!

Just for comedy, I had one today that after exchanging 2 PM's he asked if I liked having champagne licked off my tits. I really wish that men acted like that in real life - then I could smack them in the mouth instead of just blocking them!!!

Maybe the guy with the champagne comments has the money etc to get away with saying it in real life to easily impressed ladies.

I shudder at the idea that i would send a message like that to someone i know let alone a stranger. i do keep it real and also clean there is no point in trying to be something i'm not. I still look daily in here and see everyone who has viewed me, but still no responses after they have looked. im toying with the idea about purchasing a book on how to write a good letter, construction etc, after all, anything helps i guess.
Still, there are some good points to me, i know i am not Brad Pitt, do not wish to be him or anyone else, after all, its hard enough to be true to yourself at times, why want to be someone else?
There are a lot of good points about this site, i enjoy the forums especially, i just wish i was getting more from it is all, after all, that is why i joined.

Not sure i would want to know the result, i have already decided mine must be awful from the response rate

It would be nice to have the ability to post more info about yourself in the form of a write up rather than half a page of bands etc

i dont think its that at all, it think people are too paranoid about their profile, they send a couple of messages and then get nor replies then think they have a shite profile...
youve just gotta keep making a effort and ignore the knockbacks...

Oh I laughed at that!

After I mailed him back and said 'buh bye now!' he mailed me back and said that he had found innuendo in what I said and that he worries for my safety on here if I take offence at his comments!

Innuendo!

Him - is that a martini
Me - no it's a marguarita
Him - so what else do you like?
Me - Champagne

Can someone PLEASE tell me where the innuendo in my one word answer is??

that argument implies women never send unsolicited messages which they do in other places and so must be doing here, but who to?

Nah, there couldnt have been any drips with him there offering to lick them up surely?

Maybe next time ask for a case of Tattingers to be sent to a male friends home for you to contact him later and let him know its safely arrived and you cant wait for him to be there to sup his champers. Then you could give him what he wants, or is that needs?

No wonder some of us are having problems getting replies or dates
