i think they do work. my mum got married to someone off a dating site and they now have a house and two cars.

dating sites are just as reliable as meeting someone in the streets or a bar. keep your options open.

datig sites realy arent for young people thow. e.g 16-20 because its easy to find someone at a bar or people arent ready to comite yet

lmao at the they have a
house and 2 cars bit!

I agree with all your points mate. In fact the girl i met, well her mum met her husband on match.com and happily married and the girls aunt is a serial match.commer and swears by it!
I also agree with them not being suitable for younger people as younger ladies seem to be a magnet for fat balding 40 year old perverts! And the younger men seem to be percieved as being a bit weird or out for a f*ck basically.
I believe in destiny a tad more than dating websites.

Yes, they do. I joined for a laugh and am now dating a lovely american guy from here. Spent the weekend together recently in York. Early days yet, and he's somewhat busy with his uni work, but I think we can work something out that suits us both.

There's some lovely sweet sounding guys on here, I tend to go for the thoughtful ones who write a nice intro that goes a bit deeper than implying anything sexual. Although love is good, but it's merely an added bonus to the beauty of the soul within. Finding that soul mate for possibly the rest of your life is incredibly hard, especially when the slightly cynical reality of two failed marriages and four children follows you around..... I'd kind of given up on my handsome prince on a white charger...... with me being an animal trainer, he's probably more likely to phone me because his charger is having attitude problems than actually wanting to date me! But hey, I found someone who, for the time being at least, is okay with my haunted past, doesn't mind all the animals and doesn't find my dark and twisted mind too much to bear. I guess if I can find someone on here who can put up with the irredeemable weirdness that is me, then there's hope for just about anyone!

Thankyou, actually I think my Labrador snuck in and wrote that, he rather likes the guy I've found too LOL! They share a common love for cheese, long walks and appreciating the simple things in life...... (back to the cheese and long walks thing again... Rolling Eyes Laughing ). Jack indeed has good taste, I commend him for that. I trust my animals judgement, if they don't like a guy then neither do I, and believe me, if my dogs take a dislike then basically it's a case of how fast can the guy run....? Some of my dogs are trained protection dogs UT Laughing

It was horses, til I married (at 17 Rolling Eyes ) and left home. Then I got an American Pit Bull Terrier. She was amazing, nothing like the stereotype, and did neat tricks, was incredibly obedient and easy going. I was more upset about leaving the dog than the husband! Had some kids, married again, husband said let's get a dog. I fancied a german shepherd so went to a breeder and bought the most screwed up puppy from hell. You learn fast when you're chucked in at the deep end! Within a year I was hooked, not only trying to understand WTF was going on in this dog's head, but he's so intelligent he learns at an amazing rate. I had a good trainer and was soon winning at obedience and other stuff with a socially retarded dog LOL! Got involved in dog rescue, I've rehomed unwanted dogs all over the country, from Yorkies up to Deerhounds, got more involved in observing these amazing creatures, dogs are now being trained to detect cancer in people and just that alone fascinated me. Friend of mine took over the running of a HNC course in canine training and behaviour, wrote a degree course to replace it and I'm now a 2nd year. You'd be amazed at the versatility of dogs, there's not much you can't teach them to do! Jack Black is currently training for canine freestyle (dog dancing) and will go on to do firearms detection work. My two german sheps are pretty much retired now (one remains a 'bit mental' and isn't safe in public and the other is an ex patrol dog with bad hips). Once you understand how classical and operant conditioning works, you can persuade an animal to do just about anything, no bullying nor force involved. Sadly my second husband didn't share my enthusiasm..... I have visions of his next partner going "Shall we get a dog?" and he screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That's how it started last time!" Laughing Laughing Laughing

BTW, you can get dogs via the internet too, my rescued GSD girl came from a dog rescue site, sorta like internet dating LOL! Blind date too, I only had a rough description of her, didn't meet til the day she was delivered!

These internet dating sites work about as well as meeting people in the 'real' world.
It just increases your catchment area.
Any relationship is only ever going to last as long as it works, it mainly hinges on how accepting you are of eachothers faults, y'know, the boxes that don't tick Confused
Often the quirky things that you might find endearing about someone in the early stages of a relationship are the very same things that ultimately will drive you apart.
Am I right? Or am I just a grumpy, miserable, old cynic?

I think these sites work for women not so well for men. I think there must be 70% men on most sites and the women can pick the best ones (which is natural and the right thing to do). Now all I expect from flirtbox is a funny answer in word association thread.

you guys dont realise how hard us women have it..

cos when we find a guy, we have to train him, we have to make sure he cleans up after himself, we have to get him organised, make sure he washes his clothes regularly... etc etc, so a site like this lets us be picky
