Well I will put it another way then. If you live in a small urban area then you are going to have to be prepared to travel further to meet people than if you live in a huge city. The main advantage about living in a huge city is that you don't have to travel far to meet people from the internet.

stop talking bull....if you want someone bad enough, and it works well enough, then being with someone is limitless.. For me I would move anywhere in the world to be with that special someone. To limit yourself to one city/county is strange. Talk with people all over...you never know.

I have known people to move country and continent to be with that special person! but i suppose people get stuck in a rut nowadays and stick with what is comfortable. shame really.

I'm guessing greystone may have some previous but as a new member it seems to me that what he has said makes perfect sense.

You obviously have a higher chance of meeting someone in a highly populated area. Sure you can chat with people around the world but no matter how well you get on you cannot be sure that a real life meeting will be a success.

Personally I wouldn't travel outside Scotland for a date unless circumstances were extraordinary. Everyone is different so I don't see the need to oppose greystones comments so fervently.

though it has never worked for me, there are testimonies of people around whom it has actually worked for.i think i have distant problem.may be racial problem or luck.but one thing i knw is that with persistence and optimism miracle will happen.

your are assuming the changed destiny as you say, is it in fact actually changed? if it fair enough, but it can be ment to be this way the in actual destiny, there is no way of knowing. bcoz we don't have a destiny to proof read. Razz

They seem to be stupid Kevin because we've been here a while and heard them all before. Okay, it wouldn't take newer members long to find a thread answering their question with a little patience, but not all newbies know how the forums work and for them the question is a new one.

coasttocoast

I remain totally undecided about dating websites and if they work or not. I was on match.com twice, first time was awful no emails despite writing what I believe were decent individual non-generic emails and £30 odd lighter for it. Went back onto match.com in a last ditch attempt to find someone again a few months later and ended up again £30 lighter-however just as I had unsubscribed and gave up all hope of finding someone, I got talking to a girl I got to know (with match.com you pay by month and I had a little time left), we met and had a good relationship which regrettably ended, so techincally match.com worked and did not work! I met someone good but it went tits up! But I did meet someone and we did have a relationship-we split on good terms and still talk now and then, so at least some good came out of it all.
But people who were on match.com the first time i was on way last year were still on the second time I was on and some are still there when I last looked a week ago!!!! So again another chip into the fors and againsts! match.com didnt work for me but it dosent mean to say it dosent work for everyone else.
At least on here it's free and more friendlier AND I got emailing and chatting to a girl on here and am meeting her on Saturday night for a drink (whoohoo!) -so do dating websites work?-YES AND NO!!!!!!
Maybe we will meet our one and only on a dating website or maybe we wont-but there is definetly no harm in trying and I have seen it as a learning curve to meeting people and I think we should all treat flirtbox as this. It will work for some and not for others...

i think they do work. my mum got married to someone off a dating site and they now have a house and two cars.

dating sites are just as reliable as meeting someone in the streets or a bar. keep your options open.

datig sites realy arent for young people thow. e.g 16-20 because its easy to find someone at a bar or people arent ready to comite yet
