In my case life changed at 39/40. My life has changed completely. I was tired and OLD at 39, now I am a young 40 year old, excited by life and what the future holds for me.

I'm with you Moonwolf! I totally agree. My life is much more exciting at 41 than it was at 31 .........

Hmmmm....i'm 31. Been single 2yrs and not the slightest glimpse of an admirer. I work 12hr continental shifts so most of my free time works out as 3 days during the week when everyone else is at work. I have my own interests/hobbies but that's pretty much my life at the moment - me, myself and i. Having said that, i don't think "life begins" at any particular age - it all depends on each individual's circumstances.

Life began at around 40 for me certainly. Ok... It coincided with a divorce but since then I have had more dates than in the rest of my life put together, I have a great life at home with my kids. I feel in control and make my own decisions, I am more financially in control and to top it all I have just met a really great guy who just could be worth giving up my singledom for!! The only thing is I am really worried that if I do go ahead with him and become part of a 'couple' again is my life going to deteriorate into the mundane subservantile drudgery I experienced when I was married to an overpowering bully?
I guess will find out if it is the being single that is so good, or if it is being old enough and wise enough to stay in charge of things and make good decisons within a relationship. I tend to think it is the latter. Being 40 something rocks!!
