How on earth could you go out with someone who lived 200 miles away? You would only ever see them about once a week at the most and it would cost you a fortune on travel expenses. Like I said eight miles is about the maximum limit for a successful relationship.

I only see my fellah once a week! Where's the problem in that?

again i say: i don't agree with the 8 miles thing at all sorry! my brother married a woman 17 miles away from where he lived. it's only 15mins by train or 20-25 by car! they've now been together six years, married 4 and have two beautiful children. admitedly they didn't meet on a dating site- she's beautiful- never needed a dating site! lol, but i think an 8 mile rule may see you a lonely man for quite some time!

No you cant go out with someone who lives hundreds of miles away from you, it would cost you a fortune in travel expenses for a start and you would spend more time traveling back and forth than you would spend seeing them. 8 miles is about the maximum distance for a relationship.

Hmm, I see you have factored expense into it for a change!
Go on the, let's hear it- how much would you be prepared to pay for the round trip to see a girl?
How did you arrive at the 8 mile figure? Sounds pretty specific.
I hear girls love a thrifty guy, which probably explains your runaway success.

I do agree in part about the long distance thing, but it depends on the person. I don't think I could handle it, (which is a bloody shame as it happens) but I know people who can and do, even in different continents.

I love travelling, whether it be by train, car or plane. So travelling to see someone i like/love, would be excellent.

200 miles is OK - we had phones and text and things so talking wasnt a problem, and of course you spend all weekend together as opposed to some couples who liive together, work all week and do their own things at the weekends and never see each other. Distant relationships work if you put in the effort.

However, I would find it tricky with the first few weeks of a relationship getting to know each other in the flesh rather than text and after that I cant see a problem with distance. Of course, and I think I said this before, they fail - either the relationship fails or you move closer so ending the DISTANT relationship.

Ill concede a point though, 200 miles is a little far, 100 not so bad depending on the roads of course, you would need to get there in time to get some dinner or go out or something on an evening when yiou have travelled.

oh my god...where do you get the 8 mile thing from?? what a load of cods wollop! Rolling Eyes

I dont see how you can put a distance on it........ if you like someone you like them regardless of how far away they live, you just make it work, if both parties put the effort in then i dont see why it cant, it just depends if you like the person enough to do it!
