Hello matey, just wondering how you chanced upon '8 miles' as a figure? Has there been another crazy Blairite Quango set up to determine this or is there some other magical ingredient for the 8 miles. Most of my relationships - and bearing in mind they have all failed - have been more than 8 miles. So you may be onto something and if you are I think we should tell Jim Carrey so he can make a film about it.

No you cant go out with someone who lives hundreds of miles away from you, it would cost you a fortune in travel expenses for a start and you would spend more time traveling back and forth than you would spend seeing them. 8 miles is about the maximum distance for a relationship.

right i must be imagining the fact i am having a relationship with someone the oppersit side of england then. stonefacenot everyone has the same thoughts as you thank fcuk

who gives a crap if it works or not? where else do you get the chance to talk to people from all over GB without leaving your house? the best thing about this site is just talking to loads of people you would never of met in 'real life'.

im sure a couple of people will meet up and it will work for sure, but you have to gain someones trust before meeting and its hard to do that with not having mutual friends or not having met previously.

i reckon, use this site anyway because its cool, but dont rely on it to find your perfect match, the chances are slim.

i don't agree with the 8 miles thing at all sorry! my brother married a woman 17 miles away from where he lived. it's only 15mins by train or 20-25 by car! they've now been together six years, married 4 and have two beautiful children. admitedly they didn't meet on a dating site- she's beautiful- never needed a dating site! lol, but i think an 8 mile rule may see you a lonely man for quite some time!

It seems (and I stress 'seems') that this site might be good for friends, but I can't see it leading to many dates/relationships.

On a pay site you have more of a vested interest to at least attempt to meet up. After all you don't want to piss your money away for nothing. Whereas on here people just don't really seem to want to communicate with one another, and if they do its just for a laugh rather than with any intention of taking it to the next level.

Its early days yet, but thats the impression so far.

(Oh yeah, I can see this place being good for married men/women or one night stands too. But most dating sites are usually good for that anyway. Goes with the territory.)

I've been on sites you pay for and another free one besides this one. Personally I've had better luck on the free ones for both friends and finding a partner.

How on earth could you go out with someone who lived 200 miles away? You would only ever see them about once a week at the most and it would cost you a fortune on travel expenses. Like I said eight miles is about the maximum limit for a successful relationship.
