You're using one example to create a generalisation. True, it takes more than being funny to create attraction. The fat funny guy screwed up because all he was doing was saying funny things. When a bloke tries to impress a girl using jokes and that's all he's doing, whatever, he's communicating lower status. The bloke is nothing more than a performing monkey. Women are attracted to people with higer status, not lower status. Humour is important, but to communicate higher status, it has to be used selectively and in a cocky way. |
I did use one example to create a generalisation, correct. But I think its valid, I'm suspicious of women who say they are attracted to fat comedian's on TV. I suspect most women would stay with them laughing at their jokes, then go off and shag a good looking bloke with a fit body. That's from experience of being a fat bloke and a fit bloke.
Similar probably happens on this board as well

She's probably keeping it together for the kids. Not sure many women would stay with Homer Simpson in real life

Damn some of you guys are really jaded and bitter by the sounds of things.. |
I live in Chav city centre. I am surrounded by an amazing amount of thick, uncaring, selfish people, who could not give a crap about anything.
I speak as I find. Most of the girls my age, in Walsall, are thick, annoying cretins, only interested in 'fit guys' and Big Brother. They think Celebrity = Talent, and Fat = Worthless. They think your value as a human being is rated by how well known you are, how much money you have, and how attractive you are.
If I'm jaded its because over the last few years I've seen the state of society to come, and it isn't pretty.
*Rant over*

hey Cherry44, i totally agree! nothing better than a big guy makin u feel safe my last fella was all big and tattoed ... doesnt it make u feel so safe? unfortunatly, since moving back to derbyshire iv not seen many ... must go a - hunting |
I hope you girls don't take this the wrong way, but you are seemingly big girls, I refer you back to the conversation I had with a friend who was big and was complaining the blokes don't look at her, she admitted if she lost weight and was trim, she would date fit blokes and wouldn't look at fat blokes.
Perhaps you two are happy with being 'cuddly' and would be happy with fat blokes, but what do you actually prefer ??

no i dont take it the wrong way coz i have been with all differet sizes of blokes, but,oh bugger how do i put this, my posting skills arent great lol! ok, when i was younger and a bit smaller than now i never felt quite right with skinny guys, not only did i not like how they felt (just like some guys dont like how skinny girls feel) i felt better with guys who were a bit built but not muscle bound and now i like bigger guys too, i am quite old fashioned in how i think a girl should feel protected by her guy and mostly i feel this way with big guys, and another thing that the safe thing comes from is if i can cuddle up to a guy and get comfy which i cant do so well if the guy was skinny or hard with muscle. I have been slimmer than i am now an di have been bigger and i have always thought the same way. I think this has been for about the last few years. Does that help - i hope so, and ill just say again im not offended at all Han x |
Can I ask you..are you totally happy with being big ?..there's the old saying inside every big girl, there's a small girl trying to get out. There's a reason I've asked this.
I've known a lot of overweight people that have claimed to be happy, but deep down I know they aren't being honest. Personally I hate it when I'm in my spells of being over weight.

Hope you don't mind me adding my opinion, but as I've said before, a man's size/shape doesn't bother me having been out with various shaped/sized blokes. The slimmest I've been was a size 10. I'm at my happiest when a size 14/16 (I'm now an 18/20). My own size has never affected how I look at a mans shape/size.
Sorry Jeggea, but it really is time you accepted that there are as many women who aren't shallow as are

Not sure I'm trying to prove anything Red..just asking some questions and putting forward some experiences, I am very inquisitive. But my opinion is people cant always help who they are attracted to.

i would acually like to say something about this now, after reading reds reply and my last post again, i dont actually understand how u can think i am unhappy just from my body shape. There are many things that make me unhappy with the way i look, i dont like my hair - whatever i do to it i still hate it, i dont like how my top lip does this funny thing when i smile or the fact that i have to wear glasses as i struggle with contacts and no one ever sees them or if they do they dont notice but i hate how a toe on each foot curls slightly. I also have a history of bouts of depression. So there are many things that i need to chang eto be happy but my no means am i hideous and i have never struggled for blokes and i love areas of me such as my big boobs and my nipped in waist, so dont presume when u havent seen me or met me or know me as thats quite an old fashioned of things. It is also quite small minded. I also feel like i have been belittled and i shouldnt as i am an attractive and intelligent human person. I dont come to cause problems but i am someone who is straight to the point i dont skirt around things, there is no point in doing that. |
I didn't know if you were happy or not that's why I asked, and I gave my reasons for asking.
