Home >> Dating >> Do gentleman exist in this day an age?
05.07.2006, 21:28 quote
Yes I have to say I am gentleman even though my last partner put me through hell I still have alot to give.
06.07.2006, 17:50 quote
Well mate i think theres lots of us who have been hurt in the past! Male and female alike sometimes rhats why we tend to go for similar partners and develop a nature towards dating that can be so narrow that it leaves little choice
Me i can talk and be pleasant to anyone! I dont consider myself to be a perv cos i say hi to a youngster or just seeking love cos i look at a nice bum or boobs! i'm sensible with age groups but not rude or ignorant! but just once in a while it would be nice to recieve a reply to my messages!

Hi You go Mike456
How would us women feel if the men set up a forum saying 'are all women slappers, what ever happened to 'a lady'. I think there are gentlmen out there, unfrtunatly you just don't realise it or cvome across them in the typical places like night clubs and bars.
06.07.2006, 18:41 quote
Personally i've met females that don't like being called a Lady! I like to use the word myself. But don't you think that a guy has to earn the right to be called a gentleman and a girl the right to be called a lady! unforntunately we seem to live in an age where chivalry and manners have died a slow lingering death and those of us who still practice them are considered to be freaks!
06.07.2006, 18:45 quote
The typical(not all, I'm going to add to that) 18-23 year old male will more than likely call you 'babe' or something to that effect.
Personally, I hate that. I would much rather be called a lady. Babe is ok if you're in a relationship or whatever(for some people) on the odd occasion, but not all the time.
Like one guy came up to me during half time of a football game in the pub 'you alright babe?' 'can I have your number babe'..ugh.

Love isn't so bad.
Omg, a guy actually called me duck once..my reply: Quack quack.
06.07.2006, 19:02 quote
Babe duck wow what am i misssing out on? surey some terms of endearment ar regional! some can sound better with an accent and yuk some are just naff! i spose us older guys tend to shy away from usin babe love etc til we get to know someone better! a pet name is nice!
06.07.2006, 19:04 quote
Duck is mainly used around the Nottingham area. People that say it make me want to cut my ears off and cut their tongue out.
06.07.2006, 19:07 quote
I'm from here there and everywhere! a Scotsman who has travelled the world and i have an accent that puts James Bond to shame! so i think ill stick to a good old pet name! chook duck babe wouldn't sound right! mind you i've been told that my voice is sexy like!
06.07.2006, 19:09 quote
I associate Pierce Brosnan with James Bond, not Sean Connery!
I have a weakness for accents - Especially Irish & Scottish ones
06.07.2006, 19:13 quote
sean connery! frpm my home town too! soz no highland accent except when i go home for a visit! then i tend to develop a wee bit! But Brosnan was good! a bit mid atlantic accent wise! mine is wot U might call upper crust posh!
06.07.2006, 19:14 quote
Duck is also used in Derby (as in ' hey up mi duck'), I think one of my scariest moments was a big builder from Leeds calling me love...
I was so niave (spelling)
06.07.2006, 19:16 quote
My ex boyfriend is from Glasgow. Oh my god. It took me 2 months to learn how to understand him.
I made the mistake of going to a glasgow pub..I couldn't understand anybody.
My grandfather was from Inverness...I could only just understand him. I remember spending a year there, and came back with a slight accent!

Yeah, Nottingham & it's shitty surroundings, then!
I get that all the time from builders. So freakin' cheeky. One sang 'get your t*ts out for the lads' when i walked by the other week
