Why not just reply back and then block straight after. Saves any hassle and yet you stay polite.

Yeah, I usually block or just ignore them.

Some fantacists enjoy role playing on the internet. It is a relatively safe environment compared to the real world.

Stalking and harassing online may not be nice, but if you enjoy playing that game, it is relatively harmless online.

As for desperation, remember that some people may actually want to appear desperate and unattractive. It is an image thing, which may indicate that in real life they are the complete opposite. On the internet, you can be who you want to be, which quite often can be who you are not.

It takes two people to play a game of stalker and stalked. Ask yourself what role you are playing, and what you could do to change the game.

For example, what would happen if you reversed the situation? Would the stalker get the message?

The problem with being 'stalked' is that a lot of the time the stalker starts off sounding perfectly normal and the stalkee can easily want to converse in the first instance, but once the stalkee realises that they have got themselves a stalker them they do one of three things. They can be decisive and just block, they can be forceful and just tell the stalker to f**k off and then block or they can be too polite and this means the stalker doesn't get it or doesn't want to understand and continues with the same behaviour.

What you've got to ask with this third option is does the stalkee really want it to stop? If they did they would pick one of the first two wouldn't they?

sometimes life is a bit more interesting when you have an internet stalker!

I have to agree with what's already been said, the block button works wonders ! Not that I get harassed that much anyway, I will rephrase that I don't get harassed at all on here as I don't get PMed on here much.

Take it as a good thing. There are some strange people out there!

Actually I don't tend to PM people much so you should be ok.

beating a dead horse

Just cos it is on-line, it doesn't make it harmless.
No means no. End of story.

Unless the girl is a Camborne girl, where no usually means she want more money...

"Harmless" for the stalker - unless the police manage to track his/her IP address....otherwise they get away with a mere PM/msn telling them to bug off - which prolly gets their rocks off anyway - or they simply get blocked, and move on to the next victim....no harm done (to the stalker), yes?

That's assuming the lass even replies.
Are we to assume every male profile on the internet is not fake? Some could be joking around, but if it's genuine, the likelihood of them being able to physically stalk you is at a huge low. Although I do realise how frustrating it can be if you are constantly hassled by someone every couple of minutes, but that's how the internet works. Doesn't make it right, but there will be more stories and more nutters.
