Oh dear Bliss....I think this TELEPATHIC Doctor is trying to tell you that the sooner you get a shag the sooner you will have no more whinging threads to start! Yes! Nothing that a stiff dick cant cure!

Sorry, I can't seem to see him saying 'shag' anywhere?

Or are we just pandering to the stereotype so many women seem to have of men on here?

'Ooooh! Did the naughty man disagree? He must be a love pest. Naughty man!'

Bliss posted an incoherent load of winsome bollocks and got called on it. It wasn't virtual rape.

Gender solidarity is great. Putting words into people's mouths isn't.

No biggie. I'm just finding this whole 'men are only after one thing' shit that seems to pervade every dating site you visit a little tiresome. Especially as there are plenty of women out there who are just in it for a bit of dick (and God bless them too!).

Men aren't just after love. You at least want the woman to make you a brew afterwards.

"I'm just finding this whole 'men are only after one thing' shit that seems to pervade every dating site you visit a little tiresome".

Exactly. I've said it enough times on other threads recently. (not to mention the "why dont women reply my messages?" and "why cant i find a decent/nice gal/fella?").

"Men aren't just after love. You at least want the woman to make you a brew afterwards".

And a mean bacon sarnie first, surely?

You know what's funny? It's funny that some people who've posted on this topic feel they're entitled to say some things and others are not, that including me... I think some people should've learnt by now (and yes including me again) that there's no right and wrong and everything's relative...

Anyway... I swear I'm not opening this again, because fighting in japanese doesn't suit me cause I don't speak it.

Apologies.

Thanks for the laugh RG. Very Happy Laughing Laughing

Actually yeah. The more I use the internet the more I realise free speech isn't the great idea its cracked up to be.

You'll post in here again though.

Personally I cant see whats wrong in Bliss'ss opening post.

There's a growing number of people 40ish and over that are realising they probably will be mainly single for the rest of their lives. Okay they live in hope they will find Mr/Mrs Soulmate, but realistically they dont hold out much hope, and some have all but given up...or at least put it to the back of their minds.

Some of these people have been single for years, except for a few flings, and have got used to it. They are now at the point they dont want their independence compromised, so are looking for someone more part time.

From what I can see women are more comfortable with this lifestyle then men, who can be a bit desperate. Maybe that is because of the animal urges of men to have a women...who knows?? Maybe reflected in this thread? Surprised

Its not odd to me its mainly men that are arguing with Bliss, as Bliss is talking from a women's point of view. Maybe its another case of Venus and Mars.

I think most women have come to terms with the new world order, whereas some men probably never will.

And hey, maybe there's nothing wrong with being alone for a change. Sure it's nice to have someone great next to you (because if they're not great, you'd rather be alone anyway), but is it a need?

I know a lot of women over 40ish that would have a lot of sympathy with this implication, as they probably would with most of Bliss's opening post.

Jegs, I agree with you saying that men maybe be more 'desperate'.

I think it might be due to traditional roles in which men are supposed to make the first move and women supposed to wait for them to make it - now I look at that I change my mind. Men SEEM more desperate due to this because we are more likely to be seen to be doing the chasing?

I've always thought that men and women as a whole should be more obvious and honest about their feelings. I used to be that way, but my last relationship dampened that a little (both his and my fault this happened) and I'm now seeing how hard it can be to put your feelings out there with the fear that you will get shot down by someone you hope to invest a lot in.

28.08.2008, 10:46 quote

If you're too scared, selfish or batshit to have someone else in your life then its not the 'desperate' people that are really the problem.

Theres one good thing about the terminal loners, natural selection will sort that little problem out in the long run.
