But to me, you would only be falling for their online persona ?

Its easy to be someone your not online, hence why i can talk to people on here and in the chat rooms, where as face to face i would be a lot more guarded.

I agree with stu, but would also like to add that sometimes it's not always the other persons fault if they're not who you thought they were. Sometimes it's down to you building up an idea of that person, only to find you're wrong.

I suppose if I take it as there are degrees and different types of love, then yes 'cos I know I have some deep affection for some people I know on the web. Over a few years, you can be quite deep and close with each other, yet they may not be somebody you'd want as a romantic partner, but you do genuinely care a lot for them.

I was attracted to a Scottish woman's persona, and it did become mutual. Although we are unlikely to meet because of distance. We did chat a lot, but she disappeared. She must of got fed up with waiting for me to offer to go up there

I dont think you can fall inlove with words... cos thats what this all is, just words on a screen BUT you can kinda crush... lust and develop feelings for a person, but yeh its their online persona that your falling for, the test is whether you can fall for their real life persona... some you can, some you cant!

Yes for me it did, before & after I met my ex, I also agree there are different types of love, you can have deep feelings about someone too, whether its true love or not is a different matter

Oh yes definetly. The last man I fell head over heals for I met on this site. Unfortunately it didn't work out but I ended up with the best friend I've ever had. I think you learn a lot more about people by what they write, they are less guarded online and I think you can learn a lot about the real them.

It can happen. My brother met his fiancee online. They were friends for 2 years or so before meeting eachother. They seem to be a perfect match. So, good luck to everyone.

I also seem to only attract weirdo's and very dishonest people.
Naturally and a very naughty person online and in person, and am very easy to get attached to both online and in person. so far i have met 4 weird and dishonest men, some pretending to be someone else and eventually they get to really like me and they also get attached to me and only then do they tell me the truth and say they really want me to keep them as friends and when i get to trust them again then we can start a relationship...i mean really?
When i start chating to someone i only ask for honesty because am a very honest person. But i guess that's a bit too much to ask.
Well am still trying and i belive i will find the man of my dreams & my best friend online, coz if am a good & honest person and am online then they should be others like me online too.
