When I first came on here (as rocketgirl) I too used to fondly imagine everyone else was as open minded and unbiased as me.........til i realised that i am just the same as the rest when it comes down to it.....hehe.
So, to answer the OP, now I am 'just here for the forums' so I will answer from when I was using the dating side.
Are we too fussy when looking? Well, this seems to have morphed to another thread about a photo being important....but was I fussy?
Hell, yes! ha! I didnt think i was though....but to be honest it depends on what "fussy" means to the individual. I've never been desperate enough that when i get a pm simply saying "fancy a shag?" (from a 18 yrs old) that i would ever reply "ok, ta for the offer".....or when the pm simply had a mobile number did i ever ring it.......!! So yeah, fussy i am/was.
The only time i discounted a person when perusing profiles to make initial contact were the ones who said that they were looking for 3somes/discreet one night stands and suchlike, and hell yes i tended to avoid them without a pic for the simple reason that every single one that contacted me with no pic was after something clandestine/had a wife or were so damn evasive it was obvious all they wanted was a bit of online 'fun' with the written word....not what i was after.

No problem, and I'm as fussy, and probably as [the j word] as anyone else, possibly more than some.

I tend to avoid users with names containing 'hung', 'hard', etc, or any variation of mad, mental or crazy. Oh, and I'd probably think twice about people whose list of favourite authors is limited to the words 'Dan' and 'Brown'!

Ha! Me too!! I always totally dismiss the chaps with "69" tacked on the end of their ID name......so many cheezy lads out there!!! My son said he wants to get a banger car and paint 69 on the side so i told him i will chop both his hands off if he does! He has a t-shirt with it on and i refuse to let him in my car with it on.... It just makes me cringe....!!!!

I think we're all fussy to a degree. Less so us guys, as the women on these sites have more potential partners to choose from....and most of us don't have six-packs or look like a catalogue model! They're the ones who get all the attention and we live off the scraps...usually!
Besides we've all been in relationships before, some of us long-term ones and we don't want to make the same mistake twice do we?!

i have been treated like shit in some very very bad ways by too many people i have dated so yes i am fussy but is because i am nervous and a bit scared of men now
