I like a man with similar traits to myself.

In the words of this little ditty:

Don't follow behind me, I may not lead
don't walk ahead of me, I may not follow
walk beside me... etc (can't remember it all.

ie.. I like equal footing. I want to be there for someone when they need me and them to be there for when I need someone, but most of all, to work together.

As for the bedroom, there's nothing quite like a tumble as we fight for dominance over the other Twisted Evil

Equality is good.. ok there are times when I would default to the woman or vice versa but thats just natural..

Id prefer a confident girl to a shy one, but then again I feel really awkward talking to someone who is shy or low on confidence, its harder to get a good conversation out of them and I always feel as if I've said or done something wrong for some obscure reason.

I would say it's nearer 40% of guys, not a lot of them that expect that.

A lot of females wish they had more confidence. Confused

I beg to differ on this one. Some women think that confidence means arrogance. Personally I love strong willed women, but like so much in life it's all about the delivery.

There are plenty of women out there who think that being an arsehole and arguing every single point in conversation just for the sake of it, or being 'independent' to the point of flat-out insulting, is what confidence is all about. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but it's way more subtle than that. If you behave like that then you're just being a twat.

Your womanhood is not at threat if someone buys you a drink, a meal or opens a door for you. Some people just like to treat others with a bit of respect and make them feel good into the bargain. They're not trying to belittle you, buy you, take the vote away from you or keep you at home with the kids. Men don't have much of an outlet for affection (because we're men, duh) so if you deny them the basics because you're 'confident' then who ends up looking the fool? Especially if you like them. Show me a militant feminist and I'll show you a spinster or bitter dyke in waiting. People have died for women's rights and you throw a fucking tantrum because some bloke offered to pay for a meal? Grow up.

Every bloke likes to be tested and relishes a challenge (if he's honest), but sometimes it's better to just cut your losses and get the marry out of Dodge. Women who fall into that category aren't after a challenge and a bit of mental stimulation, they're just after someone they can manipulate. And that my friends is certainly not confidence.

Strong women are great. Women who get their rocks off on mind games (not the nice kind) and trying to belittle men aren't.

I agree. I also think confidence, for the most part, shouldn't be intimidating or scary, but a strong & persuasive force. I'd regard myself as a pretty confident person a lot of the time, but I'd be gutted if it intimidated someone, unless that person was trying to intimidate or bully me.

What sort of games ?? if you like someone you have to be yourself. I think women are alot more insecure than men, just a fact of life and i am always honest, a little bit too honest, from a feelings persepctive, and that definatley scares alot of men off, some cant handle it xx

Direct honesty is a quality I look for in a woman, so it certainly wouldn't scare me off. But she has to be willing to accept the same in return.

I also very strongly prefer assertive women with (well-composed) opinions. Nothing more annoying than when I ask for an opinion or preference and she just sheepishly says "oh, I don't care, you choose." Women who are assertive, take initiative, independent, and don't rely on their man to shepherd them through everything are far more attractive than the alternative.

Nice to hear men like their women to have brains behind their faces! I just think it funny when men say this is what they want and when they get it, they twist the qualities around and make said women seem horrible due to a lack of these very qualities in their own personalities. That is always my favorite! There is a vast difference between ego and strength or gregariousness versus forthrightness. It seems it is hard for some men to differentiate between the twain. It can make those very commodities seem horrific when one is dealing with someone who is insecure and unable to be honest. UGH!
