'approach anxiety' - i'd not heard this term before but i know all about it. I used to stutter slightly when i was a kid and i can get that same surge of panic building up to an approach. Some people are less prone to anxiety than others.

Sufferers could try sorting themselves out before they go out if you know what i mean, lighten the load you may look and feel not so desperate and needy, may help with the anxiety.

I used to have extreme approach anxiety. I can remember when I was 15 fancying a girl who wasn't in my class so the only time I had to approach her was during the breaks and it took me six weeks to build up the courage to go over and talk to her.

My approach anxiety gradually dissappeared by the time I was in my mid twenties after having approached lots of women. I found that the more women I approached the less the anxiety about approaching became until it was almost gone.

So I would say to people who have strong approach anxiety to force themselves to approach people they fancy and do it regularly then eventualy they will be cured of it.

Here's hoping we can all learn how to speak to women as well as stoney.

yer its a deffo there for me, it might vary from the person to person who knows ,but i get it alot and it often stops me from starting convos

Of course approach anxiety exists. It's called fear, and if you can't get over it you've got no hope. No girl wants a low-esteem loser.
