I dont know much about the age gap thing but everyone has there own taste (dont know how to say it in a good way)
Like some guys prefer girls young and some girls perfer guys a lot older.
But then you also get the people who would rather date people who is only like 5 years older or something like that.
If you feel comfortable with the person who is older or younger than you then go for it.
If not well then I dont know haha

One for jeggae, I had to bring this into the age thread because it shows EXACTLY why I prefer younger guys, although I do appreciate that there are still many women who love to be motherly with their guys.

quote[Where are the motherly figures on this site?
I like being looked after...]

Many of us have spent years of looking after others so it's the last thing I would be looking for......oh and before I get told that young guys are looking for 'mother figures' too..... that's NOT what I've found so far.

I couldnt go out with girls in their twenties as my daughter and son are the same age and the thought of unwittingly meeting and dating one of their friends scares me!

Oh it's funny you should say that, cos twice on the web I've been approached by somebody my daughter knows.
One was from her class at primary school and he was so shocked when I told him things about himself, but it was strange, as we were both living many miles away from where they knew each other.

The other one, was a good friend from my daughter's local pub, so I told him who I was, again, many miles away.

The thing is, my kids have friends of all ages like I do, but it just goes to show that even moving miles away from them, there's still the chance that you could 'hook up' with one of their mates.

Well i'm 18 and suposed to be meeting up with a guy thats 33 years old.

We hit it off so good on the phone and i know it may be different in reality.. but do you think the age gap will get in the way? Confused

I don't think it would in some cases age difference can be quite complimentary for the two people involved.

Personally my rule is no one more than 1.5*my age. So as I'm 19 (i round that to 20 in my mind to make the math easier) I'd only go out with people between the age of 16 to 30
Edit: although friend ship is ok at any age range, just as long as it doesn't become sexual.

Friendship is downgraded to CALCULUS ! ??

Haha Age doesn't matter! But why is it that it's more acceptable for younger girls to date older guys and not the other way around?! What if I want some 18 year old boy candy!!?? (Not that I do... but hypothetically saying)

I love your remark !
I absolutely agree with that !
It should be just as acceptable !
Just as it should be acceptable a 100% that the girl is taller than the boy,
or that the girl has more muscle than the boy.
There we got three of the most strong oldfashioned taboos about man-woman relationships together.

Then you find that some older people are like big kids, whereas some of the younger ones may have wisdom beyond their years.

Wisdom ?
Sometimes I find myself confronted with young-of-age people that allready act astoningly like the aged, MENTALLY,
when then, I myself am extremely young of mind (into anything new, explorative, romping, develloping new ideas every five minutes... Laughing )
So, there the age-thing is really not linked at all with the number.
Most people are averaging, having an age-of-mind somewhere a bit above or below the age-number , but some do absolutely go bejond any average. Reason enough to consider any question about "age differences" as a purely individual case matter.
