Well just thought id post a reply to say about my situation, and i was 17 when i met my husband and theres a 21 year age gap, he was 38 when we first met. We got married when i was 19 and he was 40, we've been married for 10 years now and really happy - we never think aout the age gap - and to be honest nobody ever mentions it - he looks at least 10 years younger than he actually is and everybody says so. Were very happy - age DOES NOT matter

I have never been out with anyone more then 4 years younger then me, I'm 34. However if I fancied someone and they were younger then I have no problem with that. Guess under 18 would be a bit much though.

I'm 18 aswell and I dated a 34 year old, there was no problem until I had to work offshore on the rigs then we decided to quit while we were ahead if you get what I'm on about.

Just out of interest regarding this topic:

I was listening to a radio show where they asked what the "socially acceptable" age gap was.

The winning answer was "Take the oldest partner's age, half it and add 7.".
If the ages are so far apart they don't fall in that window, people will tend to ask questions about it.

Disclaimer:
I'm not saying that I necessarily agree, or that you cannot be happy if you fall out of this window.

I've never known anyone to be happy falling out of a window. They tend to break something, or die.

Erm...i couldnt go with anyone younger than me at the mo! Maybe a year at a push but not sure about that! As for my upper limit, it's 29 and will remain at that for the next 7 years at least!

Well I shall just carryon doing what I like whatever anybody else thinks, but then again I'm not really looking for somebody to hang about with for the next 20 years, might be thinking differently if I was though.

I don't see age gap as a problem. I've always dated guys that are at least 10 years older than me. I've just come out of a 14 month relationship with a guy who was 22 years older than me, we got along very well

Think everyone knows my view on this subject by now, I dont see age differences as a problem, past or present, if you get along what's the problem? I just prefer guys to be younger than me, you got a problem with that! tough.....deal with it!! I shall carry on the same as always....

Is a bit of a problem to me.

Most men my age would like a bit of fun with a younger women, for obvious reasons. Everything is north rather then going south Laughing ...and I've proved to the doubters on another site, how easy I can pull younger women. That is while I'm overweight
I haven't got any children, so probably haven't got the guilt some men my age might have, so there's no reason for me not to chase younger women.

But, will any kind of a relationship with a person a lot younger last? as it can only be really based on love. At my age, I would probably have much more going with a women closer to my own age.

In the past, I have always been taken for a lot younger and gone after younger women. Now I'm probably looking for someone my own age.

but in the summer when I'm driving, I still nearly crash my car looking at sexy young women in skimpy clothes, not 50 year olds.
