Hellooo Aluria Nice to have you back I tried that last nite and still nothing Sad It must be true all the nice girls are abroad. A pal of mine has actually stopped dating UK ladies and his reason being that he is more likely to find a friendly chat or partned from overseas! He maintains that the single/divorced ladies here are rude and looking for the unobtainable all the time! Could this be true? or even a sad fact of life on the dating roundabout UT UT

Great idea eccles! i've been thinking the same thing and had started looking at peoples posts before messaging them.

you can only learn so much from a profile, but listening to what someone has to say on the topic's here. also gives you a good opportunity to start a conversation with someone, rather than it being a message out of the blue, and then not getting a reply (a pet hate of mine too )

i'd much rather make contact on based on what someone thinks and how they express themselves.

yeah, it makes alot of sense, it be quite rare for you to get to see peoples opinions first, without making a judgement first on appearance as we all do to some extent.

eccles you made the point on mr chappy's post about sitting back and just chattin on here and being a maverick i thought it was spot on!

just have to see how far that gets us now !

I have to say I prefer the forums, it does give a better insight to a persons personality etc as you can see what they feel strongly about and how they interact with others and generally get a better feel for a person.

True i haven't posted any mail since i started on the forums! except one!!!!!! will have to see if i get a reply! i do think more people seem to read a wide variety of forum posts perhaps a small drop down potted bio with a faster link to the writers profile and posts? opinions can help you build a better insight to the person!!!! but not forgetting you don't have to sit around waitin for a reply on the forums just carry on posting and chatting!!!!!!

that is what we have here to be honest. the reason that email addresses are blocked is for your own protection from smappers and mallicious code. also to stop worms on the site as it slows things down. well thats what i think i may be wrong tho lol.

If you want togive someone your email address the all you need to do is click on the www button at the bottom of their profile.

But i agree i have far more fun on here than anywhere else. i personally think it is a great way to get a feel for a person. you can see their oppinions on certain things and get a feel for the real them rather than a profile. much cosier Very Happy

there is a way around spammers, and malious code and that is to add [at] and [dot] into the email address.

Also having PM functions within the forum software would make life alot easier in my opinion.

Hi Katalina workin ok ta i get the silly replies! but surely wouldnt you like to get a bit of an insight as to the person you are chatting wiv and perhaps get a train of thought as to intentions be fore you pass out an email addie? A forum based dating site could be split into many facets! i.e short term relationships, long term jokey chat to cheer up serious stuff peeps seeking long term relationships age of person could be shown which would mean less switching from window to window!!!!! would you date a guy in a club if all you knew was his nickname and that he liked AC/DC? we use chat as a medium to get to know the person better! this is ideal but with the addition of a PM button to exchange phones or email addies wiv out them being on screen!!!!! TOBY we could be on to a serious winner here? why don't you poll for say the top 10 dating type topics and say a few rules (sensible ones!) and away we go!!!
