i think people are missing the point, if the files have been copied incorectly over to the other drive then no amount of recovery will work, my first check would be to check the file size and make sure you bro has not just created a short cut to the former files, if this is the case then they are not on that drive and the only way to recover the missing files is a data recovery company, which has already been said , is dam expensive.
