When not threatening to sue Linux makers, Microsoft can't help itself from partnering with them. Redmond today announced a buddy-buddy deal with desktop Linux maker Linspire.

No surprise really, because they have a dirty secret, which is that they cannot sue anyone involved in software that runs on Linux or those who distribute it.
The stupid thing is, Microsoft is regularly being stung by patent trolls. They should know better.
Anyway, at least Mandriva, Ubuntu and Redhat are refusing to compromise and do a deal. And a deal with Debian has to be all but impossible.
ps. I believe the deal excludes most of the key software most likely to include patents, such as Wine, Open Office and others.
