Is the website fast enough now ?
Right now, I think it is quite fast - however I don't know how the website behaves if there is more people on the website (last evening it was 420 people logged in at the same time of the 15,000 people that came to the Flirtbox websites yesterday).
I am confident though that even 600 members logged in at the same time would still be ok...but let's wait and see.
For the geeks:
I have done the following:
I had lots of statements that would just delete data from a table and insert new data. I have now replaced it with some more complex but definitely faster database queries....so basically I just checked whether the data exists...if it does not exist, it is inserted. If it exists and it is different, it is updated. Updates are better then deletes and inserts - and faster. Additionally the number of update statements has been reduced which also reduces the table locking.
Once there are a lot more members on the website I will probably have to split some tables into smaller tables and put all the data that is updated often in separate tables.

when I get on the computer the main web page loads up really fast........BUT, it freezes up for about 10 mins until the 'snow' starts to fall. Then it's ok.
I have this problem for every single page I open.
Saying that its prolly my computer, had it 4 yrs without doing anything to it so I expect its cuz my computer is slow and old and can't cope with the snow!

Aye. Still wibberling and wobberling for me. Perhaps time to take the snow off to help things along
