I have old drivers. All the new ones that say they work with old cards are optimised for the newer cards and give the old ones problems.

I think the oldest Nvidia i have is 49
I think it will work with that riva tnt that you have

Ok ignore the advice about installing Linux. Although it has its uses, an operating system for computer newbies it is NOT.

Also ignore the advice about deleting registry keys. I think this guy forgot the fact that you're not too experienced with computers, and for someone who doesn't really know what they're doing, deleting registry keys is pretty risky.

As someone else has already pointed out, the problem is most likely with your graphics drivers. Do you happen to know exactly which card you have? Windows Updates won't really help you with this - in fact it can even suggest the wrong drivers sometimes, so stay away from its recommended driver updates.

Couple of things...

If you run Ccleaner as suggested before you shouldn't have to go through your own registry to fix problems.

EDIT: [SNIP - Note to self. Read posts first]

TNT2 Drivers are here..

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/win9x_71.84.html

Download them first.

Have a look in Control Panel;Add/Remove Programs to see if there's any mention of Nvidia/Detonator/Forceware drivers in there. If not, there's a long way round..

To check what drivers you're using go to Start Menu, Control Panel, System.

Select the device manager tab and look for the + next to Display Adapters expand this.

Select to display adaptor that your using (hopefully it'll have TNT2 in the name) and press properties look at the driver tab.

Give us a shout with what you've got before you go any further.
