i bought a mini digital camera today that doubles as a webcam.. i have pics to upload to my pc. i have to install the software first. but will that automatically cancel out the webcam i already have installed??

I'm not sure...
I have my digital camera software installed(but it doesn't double up as a webcam I don't think) and my webcam software - Both seem to work fine.

They should install as separate devices as they're different hardware components, a bit like having more than 1 hard drive or having 2 dvd/cd roms.

I can second that
you should be fine, if you use the other webcam too, then you will probably need to reselect it. But as your using your camera as a web cam too why not uninstall the other one?
