Hope you havent gone and got what they tell you to get...i worked for that company for 2 years, the only reason netgear is supported is because thats what the guys at AOL have on their computer. Belkin are very reliable and i have setup plenty of networks with them.

if you give me a bit more of the problem i will try and help over here.

well i took the belkin router back and now have a d-link one, its seems to be working ok.. but at least 5 times a day, my internet will just go dead, i repair the connection but it doesnt work so i keep trying and trying and eventually it will come back.. when i try to repair it, it usually says unable to renew ip address, but ive tried static and dynamic, im on dynamic now, so god knows.....

Twisted who told you that you could only get Dlink? the reason I am asking is that I am on Blueyonder too and I have a netgear router which works great, I have only had a problem once in the year I have had it and it was telewest who helped me out and was connected again within 5 minutes.

Hiya there, if you start again with what set up you have now, hopefully we will be able to work something out. I've set alot of Belkin ADSL and DSL wireless routers and wired so hopefully should be able to sort something out,

there is a website if we are allowed to say thats pretty good for this sort of thing.

www.portforward.com

Im not affiliated with the above site just know its pretty good as i work in the industry.

hope this helps

By the way, if its disconnecting when your using wireless, there could be interference from other people using them, try using a differant channel, you have to tell both your laptop and router to do this from within the settings.

Are you now connecting?

ok your router is not the problem its your phone line

basically i was using a netgear, and have used both dlink and Linksys,

there choice brands

dlink and linksys, i think are under managment via cisco another top brand, but too expensive for my blood

netgear is the best, but again if u got a dlink or linksys, or one of the lucky few to own a cisco theres no point in changing

basically i will explain the problem, but you are going to have to verify what i say and so i will explain it all

your phone line is split into 2 lets say a high level and a low level the low level is used for your phone calls, and the high level "these are not the actuall terms btw" are used for broadband

now either ur filter is damaged which i doubt, or somthing in the house is causing a electrical disturbance to the line, this can be a burglar alarm firmware update, a sky connection gone faulty

or if you dont have such said devices plugged into your phone line and you live in a fairly new home, then it means the line junction box between u and your isp is a bit overcrowded with too many bb users, meaning when perhaps in my case, since i live in a bit of a country area, i knew whenever my neabour went online the signal from his broaband was disrupting the signal from my line inside the phone line junction box 1 mile from my home.

i knew this but because of terms and policys i phoned up pipex got a username and password for a bb account they monitor plugged in my old modem, and did a try to connect and leave connected so when i got kicked offline a certain number of times within a certain number of hours they recorded this throw this in a bt engineers face, and force them to go out and fix it for you
