Just been upgraded to 2Mb for the same price as the 1Mb connection (NTL), I have also just checked there price changes and there is none for this upgrade.

I had the 10Mb connection a little while ago, that was very nice I must say, I got it on a promotion for 3 months at £17.49 pm, after that I dropped back down to 1Mb Sad it seems way slow, but now I have 2 Mb its not so bad.

Kewl, I was on 2Mb with wanadoo, paid £27.99 a month for it, excellent service but they went to pot once they merged with Orange.

No fear, free 8Mb BB is about to be activated on my line so no complaints there Laughing

I was on 2mb with NTL for £25, now they've speeded it up to 4mb. Which is nice.

NTL dial-up internet [before broadband took off] was free with their phone line, when I first signed up with them....they started charging in the end though. Obviously just to get customers.

Currently with PlusNet - been with them for over 7 years and I even worked for them for a while but since they floated on the stock market they gone to pot. Now there's talk of a takeover bid by BT. I think I'll be moving on to Zen. Not the cheapest but they always got good rating - you get what you pay for!

NTL have appalling tech and customer support however their connection speeds are extremely good in my area.

I'm never cut off, never get "low" periods and generally get excellent speeds on my 1mb line. I had their 4mb package at one point (provided as a free upgrade from the 2mb) but then they decided to start charging us for it without notifying first.

Ahh well.

You can add wannadoo (or as i call them wannadont!!) to that list of ones to avoid like the plague (got it cheap as a friend worked at currys, dixons stores group bought wannadoo a french company a while back), I wont go into how much crap i had with them & there poxy service, god only knows how they can charge what they do for a piss poor service & trying to get a MAC of them was like asking for elvis to return from the dead. Pipex bought homecall whom I am with so was v happy when they did as I had read good reviews about both companies, never once in 2 yrs failed to connect & customer service is 1st class..oh & unlimited downloads. Very Happy

hmm, dixons bought wanadoo? BIG news to me LOL

they first started as freeserve (remember the dodgy ads?) then they became wanadoo, then Orange (its parent comapny) decided it was time to unite under one banner.

I was with them for 3 years and had not 1 problem, 2 notable occasions of downtime, good speeds and friendly helpful service. MAC code was emailed to me with 48 hours of requesting it, the only reason i left them was to join talktalk, free internet and all that. Again ive had not a moments trouble with TT LOL. Am i just lucky? dunno...

Well it was something like that it was well over 5yrs ago ffs! Rolling Eyes .. it seems freeserve & wanadoo were bought by france telecoms (thats news to me! ...lol) freeserve just adopted its parent companies name, john pluthero was head honcho at freeserve which was part of DSG (all freeserve disks were in all the stores if anyone can remember but the company was flat on it arse, wanadoo bailed them out), all the staff at currys, dixons got shares from wanadoo (as did my friends as a couple of them were employed there at the time) so it had something to do with them. check it out here....http://www.theregister.co.uk/2000/12/06/the_real_story_behind/
