Do you actually like any comedians?

frankie boyle
billy connolly
rich hall

Now, I think Billy Connolly is one of the funniest things on the planet!

I do like Jethro on video, but when I saw him live at his theatre in lifton I thought he was a spiteful twat getting his jokes by saying nasty things to people in the audience (taking the piss out of an elderly guy on sticks in the front, a very large lady etc) AND he was pissed as a newt, just not funny with it at all. Crying or Very sad

I believe young Mister Brand was on this thread several times already.

I'm going to buck the trend of The Sun paper today and say that I thought it was bloody hilarious what they did.

Agreed, I thought it was very funny. Only 2 people complained after the show and that was due to Ross swearing. The story then gets published and 18,000 Daily Mail readers (who never heard the show and have never heard of Brand or Ross) complain. Ridiculous.

and I can't stand Phil Jupitus.

The trouble is with this list is that most people mentioned are not liked for the *scripted* (unfunny to some) comedy that is written for them.
Really, some should say "I cant stand Ben Elton's sense of humor" as he writes an awful lot of stuff for others, and other comedy writers. Rarely do they actually think up their own wit.

I tend to find it's the right-wing, offensive comedians I can't stand so I tend to avoid "comedy" by the likes of:

the late Bernard Manning
Jim Davison
Al Murray
Roy Chubby Brown

My "acid test" for comedy is how well people do on QI - even Jeremy Clarkson got his head around the rather bizarre idea in the end ...

Fans of Rich Hall might be interested to know he was the inspiration for Moe the barman in the Simpsons.

Trust us Brits to blow something small and meaningless out of all proportion whilst countries are torn apart by civil war and America is on the cusp of voting in it's first black president.

Exactly Babe ........... Very Happy I for one love Ross and Brand ........ and soooo pissed off that he cant go on TV for 3 months WTF. The only person that should off quit was the person who made the decision to broadcast it, when Andrew Sachs had said he didn't want it too .......... end off Evil or Very Mad

Just to keep on topic ......... cant stand Lee Evans ........
