Well... See... I explained it ages ago on my blog, but...
From my point of view... At one point in time Butler became so popular that his face was practically everywhere. I saw his face so much that, even though I didn't like his looks, my brain started to believe I liked him.
One thing led to another and then I saw him in P.S. I love you and went like... Mhhh, meh... And then I saw him in THE UGLY TRUTH, which is absolutely delicious.
You have to see THE UGLY TRUTH to see what we see in him. He's not the world's best looking man, but then again neither is Christian Bale. It's just a type of bad boy (well Gerard is more like really cheeky than really bad) women like I guess...
That's my 2p yet again.

I personally dont see the attraction in Christian Bale at all and I dont rate him as an actor either!! ooohhh the controversy!
I dont even think Colin Firth is on the Hugh Grant list, I mean I cant fucking stand Hugh Grant, all that guy oozes is sleaze!!!
See now Colin Farrell damn id tap that ass! He is FINE!!! but I do think his whole image is a huge part of the appeal coupled together with his Irish accent, well male Irish accents dont get me all hot and flustered any more but there is just something incredibly dirty and sexy about that man!!
Now on to Gerard Butler, see he isnt typically they type of man I would go for due to his age and that beard at times! BUT he is like a real strong man and I kinda love his lil bit of chubbiness too! I agree with Bliss that it was The Ugly Truth that did it and any woman that didnt get them twinges in a certain area after watching him in that film are straight down Lesbian!!! LOL!!
