Can't be bothered to look back to see if I've already mentioned this, but the family are somehow related to Mick McManus (wrestler of old) on my biological dads side.

He owned a pub in Bradford not too far from where I used to live.

Been there

I served Vinnie Jones in Blockbuster Video. I had to fine him for a late rental. This was just after Lock Stock had been released. I thought my head was going to end up in a car door. Actually, he was really nice and chatted to all the staff.

I'm in the movie business so I meet people all the time. Just met sir Ian Mc last week and Tom Baker for casting, Kris Marshall is in our next feature and Daniel Craig is in our full feature next year.
I grew up in the rock and roll world as my father was a big promoter, so met so many that I've lost count, had INXS, Dire Straights, ZZ top, Nirvana, Chilli Peppers and a dozen more involved in my life, so over all the list would be large and will continue to get larger. In the end you just seem to see them no more or no different to anyone else, except all celebs seem to have more "issues" in some way, which is interesting in itself. So if you're loud, annoying and weird, you're probably good to be a celeb.

Ian Dury was one of my tutors at art college but I mainly remember him for pestering me in my breaks to try and get me to persuade my mate to go out with his saxophonist...back then his band was Kilburn and the High Roads.

Pestered Kelly Groucutt to have his photo taken with my brother, his friend and me at an ELO Part II gig at Butlins.......... I don't even have the evidence for it, as my brother's friend kept the one of me!! My brother's still got his though.

Also Patrick Wolf came in to the bar where I was having lunch before going off to watch the new Star Trek film. I got a bit over-excited I'm afraid Rolling Eyes

Crazy days Wink

Thinking of Art School days I've just remembered that the film called The Naked Civil Servant was based on the life of QUINTEN CRISP who was one of our regular life drawing models.

I don't suppose many of you younger ones will have heard of him

You've made the point that interests me, that when you're around famous people they're just like everyone else.
I think nobody is any more special when it comes down to it, and it's the public that keep 'stars' on their pedestals. Their lives can be so surreal and when their fame decreases, so does their self-esteem.
I met quite a lot of people who are famous now but weren't when I met them years ago. So I'm just gona pull out the odd one now and again for this thread.
