I've started learning guitar recently, and I like writing rhymes. I like sitting down and writing some kind of song in a book about something I've been going through, thinking about or feeling. Even if they are bad, its a brilliant outlet for me to blow off steam.

I can't say I'm one for songwriting but I do enjoy playing my acoustic guitar.

I started playing a bass, as I love the sound. But I made the mistake of picking up an acoustic.

I prefer finger-picking, my strumming technique is woeful, or at least it sounds it to me. :p

I've been a song writer for some years now. Graduated 3 years ago as a professional classical and folk musician. Have worked in studios as a musician and studio engineer but have turned away from life as a studio engineer. Why is it that technology changes and gets worse not better?

I work as an uilleann piper and instrument specialist and pipe tutor. have worked with a couple of bands and traveled around the UK mainly.

Next year sees a new series of plans as well as me launching as a blind uilleann pipe maker. I lost my sight at the age of 15 while at high school. I was the victim of bullying because I was born visually impaired. one day, a gang of idiots thought it was funny to beat the living daylights out of me. unfortunately for both them and me, I became totally blind. there's nothing that can be done. I'm not worried about it. It's just another day.

I play and teach uilleann pipes as well as low whistles, flute, bodhran and church organ but do love using a decent synthesizer for soft strings and pads for some of the music I write.

Music is a huge part of life and should be enjoyed. it's a labour of love but has it's rewards.

lew xx Very Happy

oh eye oh eye,i thought i'd reply,
i like my music, oh eye oh eye,
i love them beats it makes me feel high,
if ya never be singin u shuld give it a try,

sometimes my songwritings wicked,
sometimes my songwritings crap,
but all that i know is that im writing these songs,
and positivity is where its at.

we dont be singin of jealousy,
and we dont be singin of hate,
we be singin like the singin in the universe,
we be singin from the soul of something great,

for the music that passes through my spirit,
is from something greater , you know that innit,
have u ever thught you'd wrote an original song,
until someone told u those chords have been strung,

inspirations universal,
inspirations flowin,
music is the soul of the earth,
and i know thats what u be knowing.

scriptwriter

One of the best Cheshire songwriters I used to know wrote songs that were really well played, had moving lyrics, all carried a message, and motivated millions - and still do. The group never made much cash in the end, but got a living from it - and the points they were trying to make were more important than profit. I think that's the key, and the money is sometimes down to luck. One of their tracks which was controversial and emotionally moving - covering the loss of a friend - has never been far from my own mind. It can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9B1PrCckSk -- so, if you can write on a par with it, then you never know what might happen for you if you get a gig!!!!!!!!!
