Has anyone made any sort of videos whilst in motion, or strapped cameras to balloons or other crazy shit like that ?
I want to do some videos of places where I live, including some sort of "virtual tour" which would include sticking my camera or my phone to my bike and going for a ride around town. The thing is, I need to devise a way to stick it to myself or my bike ... and also be able to easily take it off for when I do some walking for certain bits. It's probably a crap idea ... but I would like to give it a go. If I do it, I'll do it dead early on a sunday or something when the roads are quiet. It'd probably make more sense to use a car .. but I can't drive and don't have a "crew" to help with the production.
A balloon or a kite would probably be easier to do, but I have to investigate that some more.
The idea is to do some post-production work on this stuff, not just film & dump to PC. Me being me, this might never happen or take ages to do, but anyway.

I've been looking at some small tripods, but something like that hadn't come to mind.
I think I have most of those parts already.
Thanks
I might just get to do some of my ideas. My only problem now is that my biggest memory stick is for my phone, which is why that was also on my mind. This has the advantage of the fact that my camera is cheaper. It lacks sound, but that's actually a good thing.

Sticking camera to places - try a velcro strap
Of, kites, we did this yeays ago with a still camera. Got a square kite, about 1m square (very powerfull it was) and made a frame to hang below it (cant remember how) and its weight held it vertical. Screwed a camera to it and andgled it, then set the camera timer and launched the kits. Results were OK and the next step we didnt get to was to add remote control to aim the shot a bit better.
Of, dont use a stunt kite!!
