Ever seen an artwork using snail shells and compost?
(Done on a reclaimed baker's tray - which has been left so you can see the steel of the tray in some places! Razz)
Or one using a real honeycomb and dead bees?

I've designed the catalogue for this and some of the work is amazing - especially the 3D-effect coral reef paintings!

Looks interesting. I havent seen any dead bees exhibited in a gallery before..apart from Mr Walhol's portrait of Miss Harry. Opening today I see, hope it's going well!

Went reasonably OK: started late!
There was the Turkish Ambassador, the Turkish Cultural Attache and the artist's MP, along with about 40 others including some other MPs.
Nobody bought the bees and honeycomb! Razz
There was some concern about how long it would last.
And whether it was a thing of beauty!
The work using snail shells and compost, on a reclaimed baker's tray, didn't make an appearance - having been left in the studio by mistake. This is an extremely striking piece, leaving the silver of the tray exposed in some places to form the sky and a river. Some of the snail shells have skulls painted on them and are arranged on the compost to look like a grave - with a suitable epitaph.
The main paintings were coral reefs and they got the most attention, being very like underwater landscapes - with fish - where the foreground is worked to form a 3-D effect.
