Couldn't fit it all in the title, but why is it that although there are hundreds of plumbers in the phone directory, that I can't seem to get one that would come and swap some taps over in the bathroom without trying to rip me off for doing it? Or indeed getting a plumber that will even turn up when agreed, if at all, and if they do turn up will actually seem to know what the hell they're doing?

I've already got a job though!
And I'd rather get someone who knows what they're doing...if possible. And I bet the same goes for electricians too. And probably all tradesmen. Or am I a little bit cynical? lol

Nope. Central heating blokes are usually the worst. One told me last year that I need a new part for the boiler which would cost £200+ but I was suspicious and sent him packing and it turned out I didn't need the part at all Mad

Ooooh don't get me started on central heating blokes! Last year I had a problem with the boiler and it took 4 different guys looking at it before I finally bunged a new pump in it myself, which sorted it Confused

you fitted a new pump in your boiler and yet you cannot change over a couple of taps?...
just shut of your water, drain it from pipes and use a spanner..
