In another thread where Chet and I are exchanging mock letters to each other, he jokingly added his BSc Hons after his name in the last one.

I wondered who else had some fancy schmanzy stuff to add after their name (or even before their name, come to think of it!).

Over to you lot, for I have neither before's nor after's

Actually, now that you mention it.....(seriously).

I don't have letters after my name, but I do have the option to.

I have a qualification, which entitles me to membership of a national organsiation (through my job), which would give me a professional title, if I chose to use it.

The only snag is, that I would have to pay an annual fee for membership.
(Even though the idea of having letters after your name does sound quite good).

Can't remember what the letters are, but I will have a dig around for the paperwork in a minute...

Same as Megs, once I've passed these exams and done my project. Then it could be Andrew Daniels MAAT or something similar.

I have a BSc Hons (for all the good it is worth!) but wasn't aware it was something you put on your name. Got a smart arse friend who is now a doctor with masters this (from Cambridge nonetheless!) and phd that and she still thinks she's not very clever.

You just take letters out of your name then?

Ur yeah I could add a few letters here and there after my name I s'pose, but never bothered, bit pretentious that eh? I guess when someone's worked hard they feel they deserve the recognition, and t'is important for your 'qualifications' to stand out on a related business letter I guess, but other than that I dont see the point.

I have studied and gained qualifications that would allow me to add letters after my name if i wish.
However, they were via Home Study courses and not at Uni or anything like that.

However, i choose not to place these letters after my name because i prefer to be plain old me and earn peoples respect for the things i do not because of a piece of paper Very Happy

When my ex writes my name, she probably puts 'c*nt' after it, does that count?

I only used mine for official documents in a professional capacity, but now I'm retired I've lost a few, so here are the ones I can still use.
