That was way past my clubbing days. By the way you forgot to mention the most famous superclub of them all The Ministry of Sound opened in an old bus garage in Elephant and Castle 1991 and still going strong today.

I prefered the old disco music though of the 70s. The Bee Gees, Village People etc. The whole scene back then had a certain coolness to it.

Remember Saturday Night Fever from 1977 what a film.

the ministry of sounds far more commercial now than it was.

The objective when you are under 25 is generally to chase girls, party hard, and drink a lot. From 25-30 you become a little bit more sophisticated, but the objective remains the same. Between 30-35 you become an observer rather than a participant. From 35 + in most conventional clubs you are a leper.

Of course, if you are a single male and 35+ in a lap dancing bar you will be the norm.

The realistic single male 35+ recognises that if it is sex he is after, then by that age he knows where to go. If love is the objective, then chocolate is the best option.

If there is another agenda or objective, then the intelligent single male 35+ will probably be able to see that it is unlikely to be a club or pub which will help him achieve that objective.

Indeed, he will probably find that nobody will help him meet any objectives at all. He will have to become completely self reliant, or self destructive. It is virtually impossible to be completely self reliant, and therefore self destructive is quite a common route for single males 35+. (however in the area where I grew up most of the self destructive single males exploded between the ages of 16-24)
