it all depends what sort of nightclub, for example you get clubs that play cheesy 60s 70s stuff for over 40s.in my own view i'd say about 35 for the proper dance clubs.

No rules..down to the individual person ..whether they feel comfortable or not..if your 30 + and still enjoy the club scene then go for it..is what I say..

The bars suit me more nowadays..not looking forward to bumping into my son in a club hehe

I'm with Susie on this... except that I'm looking forward to bumping into my eldest and making her cringe Wink

There's no age limit Kev, age is in the mind.

Personally I prefer pubs, maybe with some live music etc, I can't be bothered with nightclubs anymore as they are full of teenyboppers looking for fights.

I think the music in clubs was at its best in the 1970s and early 1980s. I can remember back home when I lived in Staffordshire there were some clubs where only 16 to 20 year olds went and others which had a mixed age group from about 18 to 30. But the bulk of people in clubs though were aged from 18 to 25. It was the same in city centre pubs too.

There are more older people in city centre pubs and clubs now because there is less of a generation gap than say 20 to 30 years ago. Because people in their 30s and 40s grew up with pop music and pop culture. Whereas 20 to 30 years ago people in their 40s grew up with jazz and easy listening music like Matt Monro and most didn't like modern pop and rock music.

the music was best in clubs in mid to late 90s when with the advent of superclubs(gatecrasher, cream, godskitchen).now there's simply to many clubs that play rnb commercial chart stuff.most of the djs in these ritzy style clubs can't even mix right lol

I went clubbing loads of times well into my forties so I dont think it matters how old you are, it's about whether you can enjoy yourself in those kind of places. I always felt fine 'cos I love dancing and music and most of my mates were younger so I just blended in. I haven't been for about 4 years now, but I still wouldn't rule it out if the occasion turned up.

That was way past my clubbing days. By the way you forgot to mention the most famous superclub of them all The Ministry of Sound opened in an old bus garage in Elephant and Castle 1991 and still going strong today.

I prefered the old disco music though of the 70s. The Bee Gees, Village People etc. The whole scene back then had a certain coolness to it.

Remember Saturday Night Fever from 1977 what a film.
