Pretty much as the title says. I was having a conversation about this with someone off here and i thought it would make a great topic. So come on then what are you passionate about?

I'll jump on the bandwagon and say music, before everyone else does Very Happy

And most other arts. No doubt I'll think of something else later.....

Perhaps the thread could be expanded to include the thing/s that people are most dispassionate about too? Which, in my case, would be politics, football and TV soaps

This is an interestin' topic, though you can usually guess what people are passioned about from what they say around on other topics. Laughing Laughing

I for one have no idea on the difference between passion and obsession right now... What I'm passioned about? Well as y'all know... Pool, Michael Madsen, pool/snooker champions, life itself, incredibly intelligent and cultured people, London, Elvis... I'm also passioned with what I consider to be my logic thinking (most people might think I don't have it, but once you get to know me you might discover otherwise sometimes). The list could go on, and on, and on...

Not to say passion has so many meanings, including: A powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger, ardent love, boundless enthusiasm, an abandoned display of emotion, etc.

So far I've listed the things I lurve, therefore am passioned about... But there are still so many left. Very Happy I for one know, the Nix, that you're passioned about greyhounds, par example. DH is passioned about necks. Laughing Right?

As for the things I hate a lot, therefore hate them with passion... There aren't many and I really don't like to think that I actually hate something for real, as hating is a very rough word, and the human mind... Well... It works in mysterious ways.

One last thing... A passion after all = something you like or dislike with all yer heart, right? Hope I got it right.

well i am standing up typing with one hand with the keyboard in the other cuz my elderly cat clemmie is snoozing on my chair - does that make me pasionate about her comfort??
i am also passionate about all my other rescued/abused animals i'm a bit of an anorak really.
iam also rather keen on supporting a fistula hospital in ethiopia.

not really passionately against anything apart from obviously animal cruelty, child and the elderly abuse and neglect.

My family, and animals - which is why I do the job I do! There is other things I like/enjoy, but I would say they are the only two I'm passionate
about.

well yeah iguess its a given that i am passionate about my kids. I was a regional co-ordinator for the national gifted childrens assoc. when my kids was little for their sake to get them a suitable education, and we even home educated them for a couple of years. Had years of fighting for my kids rights, more so now in my elder boys latter years as an adult with aspergers and manic depression, and having worked in housing for homeless vulnerable adults, yes thats of course another passion for me.

On the contrary, different interests and passions make people interesting. Just because I am dispassionate about something doesn't mean that I don't have friends who are passionate about those things.

Not that I'd go to a footie match or watch TV soaps with someone, mind

And I've spent too time in the HOC and working for an MP to care all that much about politics.

Passions.....hmmmm.....tough one!

Hard to say, good design, science, knowledge, craftmanship.

It certainly stirrs me up to see so much bad design.

But I'm not sure that covers the whole spectrum or answers the quesiton as the questioner intended.

Film.... especially world cinema. I'm actively geeky about that.

Having philosophical conversations with people!! (does that count, i seem to do that a lot?)

My degree - neurolinguistics and psycholinguistics... it seems to bore most people, but i am mad passionate about the brain and the ability to speak. x
