It's a rainy Bank Holiday Monday....if I wasn't single I would most likely find that I was dreading going with my gf to her parents for dinner. They would most likely be okay, but it's that 'meet the parents' thing innit, you don't want to be an arse, or make some horrendous faux pas, or accidently injure a pet etc etc Embarassed
Either that or you find that although you thought you'd get a relaxing day at home, that you had forgotten the planned trip to some big shopping mall, or church fete, or sporting event, or one of thier friends BBQs and you don't like them! Laughing
If that sounds a bit negative it's only because i've deliberately picked out all the worst things, and the reality is that I've had plenty more great Bank Hols when not single - Families that are great fun, remembering those planned trips to church fetes etc and enjoying them Smile Wink and get togethers with our friends for BBQs, camping parties, visiting places etc Very Happy

Get up late Wink and make us breakfast, then off to see some unfamiliar part of Edinburgh.

But there's another layer of "what if..." as I'm at work today anyway!

I'm not single so should I be doing something a little more exciting than laying in bed posting in FB?

You'd have to do something, like booking a nice restaurant. Nice romantic day in the rain is no problem. Now all i need is someone to share it with.

No Way! It is like Springwatch. I must admit I have not really watched BB. Although if I could vote off Kate Humble I might.

If I wasn't single then, assuming she'd not made plans of her own, I'd have taken her along with me to my friend's place this weekend where there was a folk festival. It was planned well in advance, so we could have sorted out someone to mind her kids. We'd probably have done our own thing for some of the time, as we did when we went to visit friends of mine, and had a meal somewhere and seen more of the bands & entertainments than we ended up seeing.

Having said that, I don't care Very Happy I ended up having a good time anyway. I've also ended up planning to go see them a few more times over the next couple of months, to do a few things around their way like a local music festival & a few gigs that are coming up.

If I weren’t single I would be curled up with my partner under a duvet on the sofa watching a DVD and having a nice bottle of wine!
