What mobile phone would you prefer ?

In my opinion a mobile phone should definitely have WLAN so you could surf on the internet with it for free (and fast enough). I think I would also prefer a QWERT kind of keyword...

What's your opinion on this? Does anyone happen to know how many iPhones have been sold in the UK so far?

Samsung SGH-F700V

iPhone

Sony Ericsson W900i

Nokia N95

Nokia E90

HTC Tytn II

The disadvantages of Apple's iPhone are as far as I know:

- the battery can not be exchanged
- the camera has only 2 megapixels
- the display is likely to break (a theory)
- it does not support UMTS
- you can not upgrade the memory (8 Gigabytes is the limit)
- too expensive
- they force you to buy music from Apples iTunes websites. An iTunes account is mandatory (is that true? what about playback of MP3s ?)

I quite like the HTC stuff. It isn't often availble in the UK as HTC, a lot of the networks rebrand the HTC products (e.g. I think T Mobile rebrands the HTC phones as their own brand MDA's).

I used a T Mobile MDA for ages, was one of the nicest 'phones' I've had. Recently changed to a Razr2 V8, lovely phone, but battery life is awful. With hindsight, I'd have gone for another HTC model or the Nokia N95.

I'm afraid I'm in the minority these days - I use a mobile simply to make/receive calls in emergency away from home, and txt for when a whole conversation is not needed. I could quite happily live without but being on the motorway at night and breaking down has its downside without a mobile....I'm not a gadget person, so I didn't vote here.
Saying that, there are some really super all-singing all-dancing ones around which I think are great for them that want them.

I want to get myself one of these :

A Linux powered phone with true potential for easily writing your own applications to current API's that you're familiar with (if you're a developer obviously), and also use programs you've already written for pc's easily. Could see that being really useful and totally customisable to do what ever you want.

For any other geeks on here that might be interested on it you can find out more here.

Gotta be the HTC (MDA) - like darkhorse says, 'one of the nicest phones...'
I've got one (which replaced my SPV some months ago) and it's great - Windows mobile is very good allowing you to move files around etc, which is an area of severe limitation on other phones.
