Here's my list...
Sense of fair play: ‘It’s not cricket,’ is a state of mind..
Reticence: If you’ve known him for 30 years, an Englishman might reveal his true feelings.
Humour: Usually of a self-deprecating, ironic type.
An abhorrence of boasting: I know a champion cyclist who said, ‘I'm lucky, I just have big lungs.’
Understatement:: If an Englishman has lost both legs in an accident, ‘Bit of a nuisance really. Now I’m just arsing about!’
Awkwardness in new social situations.
The ability to queue, even when alone.

What would you add?
(Or take away? Razz )

Isn't it what you call "joke"?..
Whatever you define it - weird or ironic - I like English kind of sense of humour...

From working in a shop, for past 2 years i can quite confidently say this about the english:

1.) Manners have rapidly declined
2.) Distinctive loss of identity
3.) Easily manipulated by the media and Government
4.) Constant need to live in a class system

Turn off your Tv's, throw away yr newspapers, stop living the path of the false Ego and find the path of the true self,

Which is...? (audience falls silent, waiting in baited expectation)...
