I'm probably going to get slated here .. but here goes ... I do actually look at pics first then read the profile, there could be someone with a nice picture that i think is 'fanciable' but then read their profile and see that we have absolutely nothing in common with them ... but it does annoy me people sending me messages without a picture

I certainly think so, Cheeks. And the data suggest that, at least for men, looks are the #1 factor.

I challenge anyone to give an example of them making initial contact with someone they found ugly, with a view to dating them.

I look at the pic and bodyshape coz I'm shallow like that

definately ... you do have to be attracted to someone first ( totally different matter if its just friendship your after)

To be honest I like these forums you can get to know people and what they are like. I would like to think i know a few people in here, to be honest I do not message people without at least seeing thing in forum thats why i don't bother about getting messages.....................don't know if this answers question if not all the ladies can message me all right
