"Friendly guy would love to meet you"
2011-02-14 11:08:01 Hi there, My name is Pete and I'm a friendly 42 year old professional guy from Bromley. I saw your profile and I would love to chat to you sometime and hopefully meet if we click. I'll be honest and say up front that I am married and am not looking to change this, however I am looking for some additional fun and friendship in my life - both things that seem to be very much missing at the moment. I'm a telecoms project manager for a US company and enjoy my work very much as I get to do quite a bit of UK and worldwide travel. I'm a friendly, discreet and approachable person - 6ft 2in tall and about 180lbs - pretty well built and strong. I am intelligent, generous and can hold a good conversation. If you like the sound of me then maybe get in touch. Hope to hear from you soon.

what a total dick!i did however write a kind reply

2011-02-14 11:15:57 i have to say, i think that messege is disgusting. number one, your married, it happens to be valentines day, when you should be with your wife, not picking up women on a dating site. number two, if you approach a woman who doesn't care whether your married or not and takes your offers up, she's not a friend if you're looking for fun & friendship. I feel sorry for your wife to have a coward like you. I could go on & on but i really hope your wife has an inkling of your behaviour and is screwing your neighbour.

This completely sums up when i mentioned why some blokes on here rarely show their face, unfortunetly he did though.

That last sentence was one of the greatest put downs i've ever heard!

omark1975...fair comment. There is an amount of honesty in the letter (which dose seem like it's been copy n pasted into a few fields) But it's the strong suspicion that there's a lack of honesty elsewhere - which undermines the vague appreciation of the honesty in the letter, which has gotten people's goat up.

Boobytubey has dealt with it in her own way - amusing and correctly IMO; but maybe it be should have stopped there, for the reasons you cite

I agree that he seems to be dishonest, although sometimes people need some sort of practical experience which shows them about their situation.

For example, what may have been a good solution to this problem (prepare yourself for another unusual method!), and if someone is really intent on teaching a person something about honesty, they could, say, take the form of someone who is interested in them, and plan to eventually meet that person.
All you would have to do from there on is send him round to the house of some of your tough male cronies (every woman has them!) with you waiting there, and those guys would take the initiative and soon put the man to flight!

Dishonest people get dishonesty back to them. Although people usually aren't bothered or prepared to do these things to illustrate something, so people don't learn properly.

I agree, there are many ways to deal with the situation and it is up to all parties to live with their conscience in such situations.

We just need to be careful that we deal with things in a targeted and proportional manner, especially online where things can spiral out of our control.

I'm glad the original post has been edited to protect the not-so-innocent. Consequently, I have removed my original comment as it is no longer relevant.
