I thought Troy was a Trojan city that the Greeks destroyed. The only link to the Romans that I'm aware of is a line in a Roman epic poem book by Virgil, where he suggests that the Romans were descended from the Trojans. I wasn't aware that there were any other references in history suggesting this.
