Ah, but if sites truely wish to be accessed by as many people as possible, every person should be able to access them regardless of technical specifications. And every person should be able to use them.

Otherwise you get left with an elitist, closed off site where you are limiting your clientele.

Find a copy of internet explorer (1), or maybe netscape (1) and see how many sites you can view. It's not elitist when anyone can upgrade for nothing. And it's nothing to do with tech spec, if your machine ie6 it can run firefox or IE7 you just can't be bothered to keep up.

On topic.

You snooze, you lose.

You are talking about a massive jump in technology there. I am talking about 1 version, not 5 or 6. And you seem to think that I am talking about just me. I have made it plain that I am only really here for the forums. As long as I can view and respond to them, it doesn't matter to me.

What I am thinking about is other people. Not everybody has the time to install the software, or is able to. A member of the dating site who logs in from their work computer for five minutes every lunchtime is obviously not in control of the software they use, and not every company has the time or inclination to update every single time software is updated.

And 'on topic'? If that was your thought for the day, and we are discussing it, I would call that 'on topic'.

The topic is thought of the day, not discuss baggies thought of the day though.

As an aside I just tried netscape (1) and it can't even open the bbc's sports page. Sad

And yeah I do think your complaint is just about you. Not seen anyone else whinge about it.

If someone is only using the net for five minutes in their lunchtime then they are unlikely to have come across the site, and wouldn't have had time to make a profile.

I think most companys will have upgraded to IE7 by now it's not as if it's only been out a week or two, IE8 is in beta testing. And it was a major upgrade.

And how can someone not have the time for such an upgrade or not be able to, we aren't talking about hours of laborious work or the technical skills of rocket science here? For firefox a small download in the background whilst you look at the web, run the install and it doesn't even make you reboot.

On topic

Dogs don't smell fear, they smell the cat that's been doing figure 8s around your legs.

Ignorance is the most common human flaw, but most don't realise they are ignorant to something.

Getting wasted at a party doesn't mean you've had a good time, it could mean it was that bad that you wanted to forget it all.

If you really want something then put all your hard work into it, otherwise hush up.

Most problems in a relationship are caused by a lack of activities and too much thinking.

The Intardnet has a wonderous influence for research and learning. But. The downside is postwhoring is like crack.
